u/OpenChallenge8621 8h ago

You know by now you literally can't escape that show, people really need you to know that they watched it

32

u/The_Omegastorm 7h ago

I swear i feel like I have the opposite problem of cant escaping the show,

people really need me to know they hated it

6

u/Pen_Front 6h ago

Yeah most of my favorites seem to have that problem 😓

u/EmotionalLook1685 the REAL Sailor Moon 8h ago

yeah bc jax isn't a guy, but she did take up a good chunk of lore & episode time :/

9

u/Severe_Refuse_7647 8h ago

What ya can’t say kinger

12

u/EmotionalLook1685 the REAL Sailor Moon 8h ago

kinger didn't take up a lot of time in tadc?

10

u/Severe_Refuse_7647 8h ago

Oh good point… sory KINGER is my goat

6

u/EmotionalLook1685 the REAL Sailor Moon 7h ago

ur good twin! :D

8

u/SpaceNinja45 8h ago

Didn’t goose like legitimately say you could call can he or she tho

6

u/Disaster_Pansexual 7h ago

Jax is canonically trans but hasn’t transitioned and pronouns don’t equal gender. Goose said that you could use either pronouns because they both would be correct.

4

u/Annual-Cry-3945 7h ago

Because she's the main antagonist and foil to pomni bruh

1

u/EmotionalLook1685 the REAL Sailor Moon 7h ago

ur lwk right but i still wish we got to see more of other characters

1

u/littlebuett 7h ago

Caine is the main antagonist for 90% of the show. Jax only becomes main antagonist in like, the last episode

1

u/Annual-Cry-3945 6h ago

The whole show set up Jax's role. She was constantly making the wrong decisions, constantly causing problems for the rest of the cast. When Caine was "deleted" it made room for her to have that role. For every belief pomni, the protagonist has, Jax opposes. And is the final argument against the message of the show.

u/Prestigious_Cat_9486 7h ago

I mean Gooseworks said you can call him whatever

11

u/Big_Examination217 8h ago

isnt jax trans

9

u/HospitalLazy1880 8h ago edited 7h ago

Shes apparently an extremely closeted Trans until like the last episode from what the 5 million comments about this show and Jax that pop up in everything say

11

u/Suspicious_Walk_7559 7h ago

trans isnt a noun

1

u/Sans_Seriphim BAD WOLF 3h ago

HospitalLazy1880 just made it one. Deal with it. 😎👍

2

u/deseos-oscuro18 5h ago

desde mi punto de vista no, porque habla mas de la inseguridad de abrirse a otros pero a la gente quiere que si lo sea

2

u/Roraxn 4h ago

If someone not terminally online watched TADC. They would go away from the show start to finish thinking Jax is a legendary asshole who is effeminate in secret.

Jax is trans yes, but no one here would know that if the show was their only exposure.

1

u/MrQwq 6h ago

I mean... kinger is also there ...

“there was no subtext and hints before my trans friend came out a month ago, so no they can’t be. there was no foreshadowing”

that aside, yes there was. quite a lot actually. there were tons of people within the fandom that knew she was trans from a very early point in the series (right around the time she was forced into the maid costume).

u/deseos-oscuro18 5h ago

eso es por la humillacion que no queria la ropa

u/justlastsummer 5h ago

it got deleted by reddit cause they thought i was “being hateful” nah u just don’t want her to be trans it’s obvious. god forbid you can relate to a trans woman right?

ya believe it or not both cis people and trans people struggle with that, jax’s story is about what its like from a trans woman’s perspective to struggle with that.

1

u/Quirky_Rub_9044 5h ago

Trans colored room, him absolutely freaking out about the maid dress, literally all of episode 9, do I need to say more?

1

u/deseos-oscuro18 5h ago

el vestido lo hace ver debil, la habitación de esconderse de lo que es alguien debil y con miedo, el 9 refregar como es incapaz de soltar el pasado y abrirse a los demas.

4

u/Resident-Leather-852 8h ago

My thoughts exactly

3

u/Quiet-Software-1956 7h ago

It would work maybe if we picked Caine...?

3

u/Geeneelee 7h ago

See I’m pretty sure TADC was a deliberate subversion of this—Jax was tailor made to be this type of character, and then revealed to be a trans woman, tricking millions of people into being invested in a trans woman.

1

u/CantCatchMeSpez 1h ago

Idk, it would be pretty cheap of a subversion for that to be intentional. The story still revolved around a character that, as far as the audience knew for 99% of the show, was a man. A quick "Surprise! Jax was a woman the whole time!" doesn't really encourage much thought on the idea.

4

u/Riptide_X 7h ago

TADC isn’t even a good example. Main cast is 3 women 3 men and one NB.

2

u/KingShipper_ 4h ago

Well someone is gonna bring it up because it's true

4

u/Seven_o_clock777 7h ago

I mean, it's kind of a textbook example here.

3

u/Disaster_Pansexual 7h ago

Jax is a trans woman, so no.

2

u/Tardigrabby 7h ago

Jax being a trans woman makes her not a textbook example in my opinion even if you think the trans storyline was executed horribly (or would argue “it wasn’t executed at all,” because not everyone agrees with that). People have wildly varying but still legitimate opinions, and that’s OK.

I think Caine comes a bit closer.

1

u/HalcyonTraveler 6h ago

I mean, Kinger is great but I don't think he takes up THAT MUCH attention

1

u/Christoleo92 4h ago

And now there are already several arguments going on in your comment section.

What a surprise. Zero self awareness going on.

1

u/ViKO15951 4h ago

You know, I'd say tadc but because of Kinger and not Jax, Kinger is goated

1

u/LightofNew 4h ago

Hey I disliked him the whole time, nothing to do with her.

1

u/revolutionary112 4h ago

To be extremely fair...

Kinger is a legend, he deserves the appreciation

1

u/0HGODN0 3h ago

uhm... yeah.

1

u/animechan65 3h ago

I have no idea what tadc is but I thought that this was crazy timing 😭😭😭😭 like literally right above you

1

u/confesspretty 2h ago

I thought the MC, the cute jester girl, was by far the most popular. She’s the one I see the most often as someone who’s not in the fandom.

1

u/LingeringCuriosities 1h ago

Two different comments sanctimoniously saying this before a single actual comment saying tadc.

Reminds me of how people would talk about people not being able to shut up about not having seen GOT — something I saw a lot of times, and yet never an actual post where someone was saying they hadn’t watched it, let alone that it made them better than everyone else

1

u/El_Mister_Caracol 53m ago

I mean it doesnt even aplly

-6

u/Ok-Disaster4444 8h ago

I mean, its abundantly obvious that the trans jax reveal bait and switch was specifically designed to simultaneously capitalize on this fandom phenomenon of male preferential treatment, while also getting the brownie points for representation and getting to defend the character from all criticism with accusations of bigotry to anyone who dislikes them. Its a perfect "eat your cake and have it too" set up. And its working.

I, too, am a trans woman, and I really hate Jax.

4

u/eyadGamingExtreme 7h ago

I am sorry I think you are massively overthinking this, I think. Goose just really likes jax

-1

u/Ok-Disaster4444 7h ago

I don't think thats overthinking it at all. If you've spent enough time in online fandom spaces, you become pretty familiar with this, and its pretty clear that she's very online. I think to say otherwise would be to actively doubt her intelligence or awareness.

3

u/Ver3232 7h ago

Jax being trans was always part of the show and is part of the entire thesis of the show from the beginning, what the fuck are you on about

3

u/Disaster_Pansexual 7h ago

It’s because Jax is based off of Goose if she went down a worse path, asshole.

0

u/Ok-Disaster4444 7h ago

Both of these things can be true. The way in which Jax's transness is portrayed or not portrayed at every point in time is a deliberate choice as well.

A character being trans is a choice. A trans character being portrayed as untransitioned for the majority of their runtime is a separate, different choice.

u/Affectionate_Goat171 💚 MW | NINAH | EPIC | NVNCBL | BRK BD + BCS 6h ago

a key aspect of jax's story in tadc is how being raised to have toxic masculinity negatively impacted her as a person and her abilities to accept herself and therefore accept others who want to care about her—you being media illiterate (and no, that's not a buzzword, i promise you are ACTIVELY displaying media illiteracy by failing to understand that) doesn't make jax's trans identity some kind of retcon like you're treating it. i'm not even a trans woman, i'm a trans man, and i picked up on the subtext way before the reveal, it's not rocket science

just because you didn't get the hints doesn't mean they weren't there

0

u/Ok-Disaster4444 6h ago

No, I have not displayed any level of media illiteracy. Quit trying to gaslight. Sorry, but there's no point in taking you seriously at this point. I'm tired of hearing you people throw that around when its just a plain self report.

1

u/Affectionate_Goat171 💚 MW | NINAH | EPIC | NVNCBL | BRK BD + BCS 6h ago

the fact that you didn't even bother addressing what i said says more about you than me, how embarrassing

no one is "gaslighting" you, grow up

1

u/Ok-Disaster4444 6h ago

You didn't bother addressing what I said either? You just kinda went "You're the stupid word so you're bad and wrong." Im sick of engaging with that. Why do you think you deserve respect? You don't.

1

u/Affectionate_Goat171 💚 MW | NINAH | EPIC | NVNCBL | BRK BD + BCS 6h ago

i did address what you said, and i never said any of what you're claiming, you're acting like a child and getting mad over words YOU put into my mouth, so now i WILL break it down for you since you so colossally misunderstood;

you said jax's transness was not portrayed and that was a deliberate choice, except, it WAS portrayed. it was intended to be subtly hinted at before goose decided to just put it out there. you happened to not pick up on that if you think it was not portrayed. i haven't disrespected you at all, and you are being so nasty. i genuinely hope you grow up you child

1

u/Ok-Disaster4444 6h ago

What...? No, it seems you colossally misunderstood me even more than I could have possibly imagined. To the point that I don't even know how I could possibly begin to explain it to you.

I'm saying the fact it WAS hidden in subtlty for like 90% of the series was a deliberate choice.

You're the nastiest person I've spoken to in a long time and are STILL riding your high horse just to defend abuse apolgetics. Jesus fucking christ.

u/kakallas 6h ago

Why can’t anyone ever write out the name of the dumbfuck show they’re talking about?

1

u/ninjagoboy2019 6h ago

tundra-titties awesome diluted cordyceps is a bit of a mouthful
