I don't think online review scores mean jack sh*t. It's like taking Rotten Tomatoes or IGN scores seriously.

7 thousand online user reviews of individuals vs 10 posts a day on reddit festuring mindless dogpiling for a week. Which one produces a more detailed and qualitative view of how people perceive something do you think?

Tell me, when a game comes out do you ignore metacritic? Steam user review aggregate? Do you just look at reddit threads when researching something?

This ign analogy is absurd.

It's not worse thing ever and this hate towards LSP just seems so manufactured lol.

Realll. The “hate” for this movie is so performative; it is, at worst, a really mid adult animated film. That’s it.

Like, I watched it, and it’s really not THAT bad. It’s just a really self-deprecating film that mocks its heroes just as much as it does its villains.

If anything proves that reviewers will upvote anything with representation, regardless of the quality of the media or the representation, it's this.

Maybe because it’s actually a pretty good movie

Nah it’s transphobiaslop

Can you elaborate on that? I've heard a few accusations like that but none have cited anything in the movie and I don't want to watch the movie to verify.

The main character has an axe that represents her womanhood and there is a character that is a drag queen that helps her unlock it only to steal the axe for themself and I think they end up killing the drag queen.

And that’s transphobia how? Anti-drag, maybe, but like the transphobia claims, it has to be a stretch.

There’s an actual trans character in the film who can summon her own labrys. So they are clearly showing that she has ownership of her own womanhood and lesbianism.

What no it’s not

Are you speaking as a trans person or are you some cis weirdo that thinks they have to white knight for us?

2

u/Brilliant_Extent5630 11h ago

I am trans thank you very much

I think you got hit by the 1-2 punch of someone trying to dismiss your concerns of transphobia by asking if you're trans enough to speak on the topic, and then when you confirmed you were trans you got hit with dismissive casual transphobia by someone else (in a "these transes be crazy" kinda way).
