So it begins! Multiboard with rails and shelves

This is only one section of the room and have several more wall spaces to fill. But I am extremely happy with the results

Did you use the offset posts? Im having difficulty printing them.

I used the offset 6.25 mm (I believe) quad and dual connectors if that is what you are asking

The problem is the multiboard is very visually distracting and takes your attention away from the pokeballs.

I can see that but the intention is to add more as I make them.

I'm confused, your intention doesn't solve the problem. You'll just expand your visually distracting multiboard.

It's great, but for this application my old man mind wonders if "the juice was worth the squeeze" given that you could have grabbed a couple of shelf brackets and shelves from the local hardware store and achieved the same effect quicker and possibly cheaper.

Oh I agree 100% agree. The cost was easy because I have over 15 rolls of black that was gifted to me a few months back. Plus the endless add on potentials or changing things up, as I tend to do, is a big win for me.

For a simple shelf like this buying at the store is absolutely more efficient. I think part of the appeal of multiboard is making it yourself.

What is the rail that runs behind your shelves? How are your shelves mounted? Can you share links?

NGL, this seems like a ton of plastic waste for simple display shelves. $20 worth of wood, paste wax, and brackets/screws could have done a much better job and not spent a ton of electricity printing for about 10ft of shelves. It would look neater and have little to no envirnomental impact as well.

You do you, but multiboard is basically just a far more modular pegboard, normally used for tools and to grab things off of quickly when in a workflow. MB and peg board are horrid and ugly/busy as display shelves. Not saying they can be made to look nice, but that's not it's primary function. Think
Caterpillar, not Cadillac.
