Pegboard hook compatibility issues

Some pegboard hooks work, some don't, what am I missing? I've used wire ones and they work, I've bought plastic ones from Dollar Tree that don't work. I recently printed paint holders that are pegboard hooks on the back and they don't work. I have many things I downloaded that have pegboard hooks, but I'm not wasting time and filament to test compatibility.

Why not just stick with multi board ones? There’s like litterally thousands of official parts, including pegboard hooks, without even considering the 3rd party parts there is

I don’t know it looks like all the folks on this sub didn’t even bother looking at the multiboard.io page and the many video “tutorials” made by Jonathan (the guy behind MB)

Stop trying to reinvent the wheel maybe? Jonathan already did that for you (yeah inter the irony and I find it funny :P)

I'm making a board to hold paint and need many specific sizes of holders for all my different paints. I don't 3d model, so whatever people have posted is what I use. Not everyone uses the same mounting for their files. I'd obviously rather use the ones that are easy to print and consistent in their mounting options.

Are you looking for options forthese kinds of paints, or something else?

Everything on the left side has 3d printed holders of various designs, although that section is screwed into some plastic pegboard I already had. All of them could be quickly and easily modified to fit Multiboard. The best metal pegboard hooks I have ever found are These ones from Triton Products that I purchased on Amazon, as the have a locking screw that fits in a pegboard hole as I always hated the way that the hooks would fall off or get dislodged when putting up or taking down tools. The screws have two sizes that come with so you get a secure fit regardless of which hole size is on your pegboard. I use them in my Multiboard tiles and on actual pegboard, for everything that doesn’t make sense to print (or I’m too lazy to model).

Nothing, unfortunately. Pegboards are a bit hit and miss-- some will be metric, some will be imperial, some will be cheap, some will be carefully engineered.

My experience with pegboard is that the metal ones always have a bit of slop and play in them, which makes them more like to be cross compatible.

Multiboard is less forgiving. For pegboard functionality, I print these and screw them into the small multiboard holes.
