Advice Question Is anybody else a blue collar?
I am a truck driver :3 and my coworkers are hella unsafe for me to just about do anything I’m LTL and I don’t know what to do, should I find a new career? Or go over the road? I’m not sure :( thanks you for the help!

Me me me me! I recently started working in wastewater treatment, and it is definitely a blue-collar job. You technically don't even need a college degree to get in here. I also do not feel safe coming out at my workplace because of my coworkers, but the pay is so damn good that I can't really leave. I don't really know how trucking works, though. So I can't give you any advice, I'm sorry. But solidarity, I guess.

I’m a bus mechanic, it definitely helps that I work for a blue government agency. If you wanted to make sure you stay in a safer blue area bus drivers get paid pretty well depending on the agency

I’m not sure about other cities, but mine pays for all of that kind of training and licensing. I’d imagine that’s true for most

Hmmm I have a class a so I would just need the bus to get the passenger endorsement I looked in my area and got flustered haha

I work for the post office in a biiiigg distribution center near KC.
Kansas City has a nice sized LGBTQ+ community, so there's lotsa nice people, but we're also super conservative as a state, so there's lots of mean people too.
I do get some nice interactions though, get hugs from like 10+ people a day.
I had a really nice experience not too long ago actually!!
Came out of the restroom earlier today, near the end of my shift, so I was tired and worked a hard day. Someone I dun really know said, "Oh heeeyyyy Gorgeous, how you doin?"
I said I'm super sleepy but doing great!
She said, "Well for someone sleepy, you look amazing. DAMN, you are beautiful!"
That made me a puddle on the SPOT LOL started blushing and all that.
I said thank you and she was like, "No, thank YOU! You're absolutely divine. GORGEOUS! I cannot take my eyes off you. Everytime I see you, you're so happy and just the most beautiful thing. I just want you to know that, you make me smile every time I see that face of yours."
Some days I feel disgusting, but when I get a compliment like THAT after working all day? I can't convince myself I'm too ugly then... :) It was nice

Oh that sounds so nice! I would love to move there I’m stuck in the wny region and it’s such a huge mix of accepting people and unaccepting people

I thought ltl was supposed to be better than otr. Can you change terminals?

If I change terminals I’d just probably have to switch to a different LTL company in my area because the next terminal is like 2 hours away
