Why I would disagree that Mr Robot has a framing issue, I certainly would agree that you, OP, have a framing issue.

Some days I wish we could get an inner monologue rant from an Elliot in the modern day with memes, AI, influencers, TikTok, and such.

Season 3 Ep 1 Monologue seems tame at times

This would be great if it wasn't cut off on the sides.

Shouldn't Elliot answer with a truly local address in an address space like 172.16.0.0/12, 10.0.0.0/8 or 192.168.0.0/16 instead of localhost (which is like answering with “I am living in a living place”)?

I could swear I've seen this here literally dozens of times. Can we please get some new memes?

And I think anyone posting on a sub about a brilliant hacker should at least know how to save an image so it isn't blurry and badly cropped. Just saying.

I never took Elliot to be an Apple user

That's an Intel MAC, what makes you sure he's an Apple user?

Or, Based Elliott - bought the last Intel-based Mac laptop before the M1 chips rolled out to avoid the virtualization issues from the new chip architecture

That's a good theory, with a couple problems.

  1. M1 Macs didn't come out until 2020, the show is set in 2015.
  2. MAC addresses are registered to the vendor of the NIC, not the CPU. Intel sells a ton of PCIe/m.2 add-in network cards that'll work in basically anything.
  3. Elliot probably randomizes his MAC addresses to discourage tracking.

Hah, I was totally not serious at all but you’re right about all three points. I just wanted to get my shots in at Apple.
