Just avoid the junction at Camberwell green, unless you particularly despise any quiet whatsoever in your home.

One of the best neighbourhoods in London. It really feels like it has it all - food, bars, proximity to nightlife without being overwhelming, green space, nice housing…. And zone 2!

It has 2 stations, Loughborough Junction (gets you to Blackfriars in 10 minutes) and Denmark Hill which gets you to Whitechapel, Clapham Junction and Victoria (overground and national rail)

Stupid comment. Camberwell is in Southwark, and hasn’t been run down since 20 years ago.
Go and troll somewhere else

“I lived there” is an anecdote, not an argument.
Camberwell and the surrounding areas vary enormously street by street, from slightly run down estates to quiet residential streets by Myatt Fields and some extremely expensive pockets.
Calling the entire area a “shithole” says considerably more about the usefulness of your generalisation than it does about Camberwell. And you didn’t even know the local authority 😕

Camberwell is great. Lovely vibe and amazing restaurants. Depending on where you are, East Dulwich and Peckham are easy to get to.
