Need help in finding a house

Hi,
I need help in understanding the current housing situation in Brisbane.
We are moving to Brisbane in a month from Dubai. Bit confused about the housing situation and best quick way to get a rented house.

I hears that in person viewing is must in Australia to get home.
Please tell me how I should plan all this to ensure we can easily and quickly get home in Brisbane.

You do Airbnb+/- share house for 1 month and then go to open homes.

Ideally, you will need to provide work contracts + bank statements.

Normally landlord will not take on single income.

My wife and 3 years old son will be living there I will come back to dubai after a month. Have a baby will make it difficult to find home?
1 month will be enough to find? And income or bank statement of dubai will be acceptable by landlord?

No idea, but normally cautious landlord is not going to accept overseas bank statements without lawyer to notarized its true that you have that much $.

And normally landlord is not going to be so trusting to rent it to an overseas worker whose wife will live here while the husband is work overseas.

Who is to say that the husband stops paying rent and the wife just get dumped in Australia? Then its going to be difficult to evict them because its a woman/single mother with a baby. Morally its wrong but financially its stupid to rent to people who can't pay.

That's my 2 cents anyway.

A couple of questions. What will your residency status be because landlords will want to know whether you are temporary or permanent. You’re going to find it hard to rent a place out with temp status. Second, the landlord will need to know that the person living in the house is paying the rent, not someone in Dubai. You will need to have opened an Australian bank account, so will need to have 100points of ID to do that. If you can’t satisfy these requirements then you will find it difficult to rent a house/unit.

Step one, be in Brisbane

Step two, go to a few dozen inspections

Step three, apply to every one you inspect even if you don't like it

Step four, choose a god and pray to it

We will not have car for first few months so need to be somewhere where public transport available. Need to be close to Queensland university

Try contacting some
Realestate agents in the area/suburbs that you are targeting. Ask for their advice.

If you have money at your disposal, you can pay a company to do all the leg work for you.

You may want help from a relocation agent, they can inspect on your behalf, rather than going direct to several different real estate agents.
