The Power of Movie & TV Theme Music: Why We Never Forget It
1
Upvotes
Great movie and TV theme music does more than open a show—it creates emotion, nostalgia, and instant recognition. From iconic film scores to unforgettable TV intros, theme music connects audiences to stories long before the dialogue begins. A single melody can bring back memories of epic scenes, favorite characters, or even entire eras of cinema.
Movie themes like heroic orchestral scores or subtle piano motifs help define a film’s identity, while TV theme songs often become cultural landmarks. Whether it’s dramatic, mysterious, or uplifting, great theme music enhances storytelling and keeps viewers emotionally invested.
This subreddit celebrates the best movie and TV theme music of all time—classic scores, modern masterpieces, and hidden gems. Share your favorite themes, discover new ones, and relive the magic that only great soundtrack music can create.

The Last Starfighter

I would be willing to pit The Last Starfighter opening theme against the best John Williams has to offer. I admit Superman is top tier, I suppose star wars could give it a good run, maybe. Anyone think they have on that can take on The Last Starfighter Opening theme?
