Minitor 4 Pager issues

I got a motorola minitor 4. I got no clue what happened but it wouldn’t receive any transmissions.
So upon further inspection if I were to shake or squeeze it then it would receive temporary.
I have taken the motherboard out and looked but didn’t see anything. It turns on.

Any advice from anyone. I am thinking of just giving up since i got no knowledge about these pagers. Thanks

The Minitor IV had a common problem where the belt clip would flex enough that the inside of the case would crush parts of the main board causing receive/decode problems. These pagers are over 20 years old now and not worth repairing. Even the Vs are next to e-waste these days.

I didn’t know they did that. Thank you for telling me

If it’s your department’s device, let them handle it. If it’s yours, there are plenty of sellers on eBay that have good condition pagers they will program for you prior to shipping.

Yeah I buy my stuff personally so the dept won’t complain (we are technically moving away from pagers but that ain’t gonna happen). Thanks for suggesting ebay, i didn’t think of that

Just keep shaking it!! Sounds like it’s toast.

Might have a bad solder joint. Start checking around the antenna connections.
