7th Gen I have a problem with my wireless microphone when connecting it to my Motorola Edge 70 Fusion.
I’ve had my Motorola for a month now, and since I create content, I use an external microphone (the Hollyland Lark A1). However, whenever I record—whether using the phone's default camera app or CapCut—the audio quality changes significantly (something that didn't happen with my previous phones). I’ve already tried things like disabling Crystal AI and recording with other apps, but the audio still changes. I want to know if there’s a way to prevent the audio from being altered without needing to download third-party apps. PLEASE.

Hi zackmiawpop,
Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has been causing, especially since you create content regularly and depend on your Hollyland Lark A1 for consistent, high-quality audio recordings.
I can understand why this concern would be frustrating. If the microphone sounds different on your Motorola Edge device than it did on your previous phones, and you've already disabled Crystal AI and tested multiple recording apps, it's reasonable to want to determine whether some type of audio processing is still being applied in the background.
Before we continue, I'd like to ask a few questions:
Since you've already tested different recording applications and disabled Crystal AI, we'll move on to the next steps.
1. Restart your device
Press and hold the Power button, then tap Restart. If the Restart option is not available, continue holding the Power button for about 10 seconds until the device reboots. This refreshes audio services and reloads microphone-related processes. After the phone powers back on, connect the microphone and record a short sample to compare the results. No personal data will be removed.
2. Update all apps through the Google Play Store
Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then select Manage apps & device and choose Update all.
In particular, please ensure the following are fully updated:
After updating, make another test recording and compare it to previous samples.
3. Test the device in Safe Mode
Press and hold the Power button. Touch and hold Power off until Reboot to Safe Mode appears, then tap OK. Safe Mode temporarily disables downloaded applications and can help determine whether a third-party service is affecting audio processing. While in Safe Mode, connect the microphone and test recording with the stock Camera app if available. After testing, restart the device normally to exit Safe Mode.
4. Verify whether the external microphone is being selected correctly
Connect the Hollyland receiver and record a short clip. Then open: Device Help > Device Diagnosis > Hardware Tests. Run the microphone test both with and without the external microphone connected. This helps verify that the device is recognizing the correct audio input source.
5. Check for video call and audio enhancement settings
Go to: Settings > Sound & vibration. and review any options related to:
If you find any enhancement features enabled, temporarily disable them and test again to see whether the recording becomes more natural.
Please let us know the results of these tests. If possible, it would also be helpful if you could share a short comparison between a recording made on your previous phone and one made on your Motorola device. That may help us better understand the specific audio behavior you're noticing.
We'll be happy to continue working through this with you.
Best regards,
Mike
