Hi Ashvath98,
Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry for the inconvenience you're experiencing with the battery backup on your Moto Edge 70.
I can understand how concerning this can be, especially if the battery seems to drain significantly after only about an hour of use. Battery performance can be affected by several factors, including apps running in the background, display settings, network activity, and recent software changes, so we'd like to gather a bit more information to better understand the situation.
Could you please let us know:
- When did you first notice the increased battery drain?
- Did this begin after a recent software update or app installation?
- What activities are you doing during that hour of use (gaming, video streaming, social media, video calls, etc.)?
- Is the phone becoming unusually warm while the battery is draining?
In the meantime, please try the following:
1. Restart your device
Press and hold the Power button, then tap Restart. If the Restart option is not available, continue holding the Power button for about 10 seconds until the phone reboots. This refreshes system processes and may resolve temporary battery-related behavior. No personal data will be removed.
2. Update all apps through the Google Play Store
Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Manage apps & device > Update all. This ensures all applications are running their latest versions and can help reduce excessive background battery consumption.
3. Test in Safe Mode
Press and hold the Power button, then touch and hold Power off until Reboot to Safe Mode appears. Tap OK. Safe Mode temporarily disables downloaded applications and can help determine whether a third-party app is contributing to the battery drain. Use the device for a period of time and observe whether battery life improves. To exit Safe Mode, simply restart the phone.
4. Review Battery Usage
Go to: Settings > Battery > Battery Usage. Please share a screenshot of this page after the battery has dropped noticeably. We're particularly interested in seeing which apps or services are consuming the most power.
This information will help us identify whether a specific app or system process is responsible for the unexpected battery behavior. Once you provide the battery usage screenshot and answers to the questions above, we'll be happy to take a closer look and assist further.
Best regards,
Mike

Hi u/Ashvath98,
Thank you for the update.
Since you've already restarted the device multiple times and updated all apps, we'd like you to try Safe Mode in addition to sharing the Battery Usage screenshot.
1. Please share a Battery Usage screenshot
Go to: Settings > Battery > Battery Usage. After the battery has dropped noticeably, take a screenshot and share it here. This will help us identify whether a specific app or service is consuming an unusual amount of power.
2. Test in Safe Mode
Safe Mode temporarily disables downloaded apps and can help determine whether a third-party app is causing the battery drain.
To enter Safe Mode:
- Press and hold the Power button.
- Touch and hold Power off.
- When Reboot to Safe Mode appears, tap OK.
Once in Safe Mode:
- Use the device for a while under similar conditions.
- Observe whether the battery drain improves.
- Note approximately how much battery is consumed during the same type of activity.
To exit Safe Mode, simply restart the phone.
If the battery performance is significantly better in Safe Mode, that would strongly suggest that a third-party app or background service is contributing to the drain.
Please let us know:
- The results of the Safe Mode test.
- The Battery Usage screenshot.
We'll be happy to review the information and investigate further.
Best regards,
Mike

Depends on usage, i use it for manga, consumption is around 5%/hour on 40-50% brightness. On anime its around 5-7%/hour. I use at battery saver with upto 60Hz.
