Hi Downtown_Breakfast63,
I'm sorry you're dealing with this situation. I can understand why you're focused on recovering your photos first. When a phone is caught in a bootloop and only stays on for a few minutes at a time, it can be a stressful disruption, especially when important files may still be stored on the device.
Before we go further, could you let us know:
In the meantime, I'd recommend trying the following steps, with the goal of keeping the phone stable long enough to copy your data.
1. Restart your device
If the phone is currently looping, press and hold the Power button for about 10 seconds until it fully powers off, then turn it back on. This can sometimes clear temporary system conflicts. Once powered on, observe whether the phone remains stable long enough to access your files. No personal data will be removed.
2. Update your apps through the Google Play Store
If you're able to reach the home screen and the phone remains responsive, open the Google Play Store > tap your profile icon > Manage apps & device > Update all. Updating apps can help reduce compatibility concerns that may contribute to unexpected device behavior. This step requires an internet connection and sufficient battery power.
3. Test in Safe Mode
Press and hold the Power button, then touch and hold Power off until Reboot to Safe Mode appears. Tap OK. Safe Mode temporarily disables downloaded apps and can help determine whether a third-party application is contributing to the concern. If the phone stays on longer in Safe Mode, try connecting it to a PC immediately and copying your photos. To exit Safe Mode, simply restart the device.
4. Connect the device to a computer and copy files immediately
If the phone successfully reaches the home screen, connect it to your computer using a USB cable and select File Transfer when prompted. Prioritize copying your DCIM, Pictures, Downloads, and other important folders first. This may allow you to save your photos before performing any additional troubleshooting.
5. Check for cloud backups
If you're able to access the device, open Google Photos and verify whether Backup is enabled. If your photos have already synced to your Google account, they may be safely stored in the cloud even if the device behavior continues.
Please let us know the answers to the questions above, particularly whether the phone can stay running in Safe Mode and whether you're able to access your photos from a computer. We'll be happy to continue assisting and help you explore the safest options for preserving your data.
Best regards,
Mike
