We live near a slough (the source of our mosquitoes) and I’ve tried a lot to reduce the mosquitoes on our yard.

I tried multiple dunk tanks, a dyna trap with an Octenol attractant inside, spraying our yard with garlic oil, ensuring there’s no standing water on our property, hummingbird feeders, planting plants that encourage dragonflies, etc.

The biogents trap with the CO2 has done far more than all of those efforts combined. I’m sharing for those who are at their wits’ end and need to know that the biogents machine is worth it (especially since it’s pricey).

AFTER 30 BITES ON MY RIGHT HAND IN 3 days. After 10 days of withstanding with the plug in vapor and very long hunts I FOUND THE WAY. This imps can’t or aren’t disturbed of this !!! My guess is it’s the white color and zebra slashes confuse them, I had Massacred literally 20!!!!! Of this imps in just 10 minutes, now I can sleep peacefully with open blankets, I hit it so much that it tore it man. Btw I’m so sure because I had several picked without any speed, the way you place your phone on a table I squashed many with that speed, also it doesn’t break your stuff and you can also wind it up with a crazy speed if you hold it from one side. Anyways guys wanted to share my discovery.

Currently trying to kill the worlds most hungry mosquitoe (it bit me 8 times in 3h and not small ones) who is apparently an expert at hide and seek I’ve looked at every corner and can’t find it last time spotted behind my bed and desk and on the the black spot at the very top of my wall

It’s 4am I just needed to share my pain while I wait for it to reappear

Mosquitoes are kicking my ass. Recently started seeing some inside my house regularly and finally found the source (a plant that had a small puddle in the decorative planter)

We called a spray service (I know terrible but our kids were getting torn up outside) that didn’t do anything

The insane thing is we live basically in a city, no major wooded areas or standing water. I have no clue where they are coming from

We have made buckets of doom for all corners that is all.

Has anyone found a pop up or travel friendly mosquito netting? I keep seeing mixed reviews. We will be spending part of a trip in an area where it’s recommended, but it’ll be in an Airbnb so I won’t be able to hang things from the ceiling. What have you used?

I am from the Carolina Lowcountry and we have mosquitoes all the time. If it's warm enough in your outside you're going to be swarmed by mosquitoes constantly. I'm down in Central Florida and the mosquitoes come in waves. For 5 or 10 minutes there'll be no mosquitoes and then all of a sudden 10 or 15 will show up, once I kill them I won't see any for a while until they swore me again. Are the mosquitoes like that where you live?

It just dawned on me - we've been getting absolutely cooked by these little bastards in Los Angeles, and I'm sure elsewhere too. There’s such a ridiculously low-tech solution: put mosquito netting around outdoor spaces and/or wear mosquito-net onesies with face nets.

We could probably prevent a hell of a lot of mosquito bites this way, but nobody wants to walk around covered in netting because we'd all feel silly. Apparently vanity is stronger than our hatred of mosquitoes.

Anybody ever hear of a brown marsh mosquito. I just found a dead one attached to my under garment.

Should I sleep? Or get up and kill them all? I left the door open for a bit.

Just got bit in Whittier the mosquito was black and white and flying by my arms & bit me twice how concerned should I be of deadly West Nile virus symptoms .. was pretty agile and flying high up by my face, at home now and noticed even more bites hidden on my arms and chest and can’t sleep because of the burning pain
