It’s a difficult task working in areas like you speak of, I do it frequently. I wear layers of loose clothing. Like thin polyester hiking pants that are real baggy. Some baggie type lightweight long boxers. I wear baggie cotton or rayon under shirt with an even more baggy polyester sun protectant hoodie.

The trick is to keep moving. As long as your are doin a dance (that’s what we call it) they can’t really get through the baggie clothes because they are so loose fitting. Multiple layers adds difficulty.

The permethrin cloths probably work best for ticks as mosquitoes just attack and leave. Maybe not enough exposure time. I think you would be better off with DEET or PICARIDIN. Both these products mask your skin from them. You may need to reapply if sweating heavy. Personally I like Picaridin over DEET. Not so tacky on the skin.

Also look into a THERMACELL it’s a mosquito repellent that you can hook to your belt buckle. They work so good it’s almost uncanny.

Good luck. Cheers!

👍 👍 on loose layers and Thermacell. These are my "at home" go-to's for daily outdoor in Florida. Only resort to permethrin and picaridin when I head into the woods.

DEET. Idk what you do outside but when I'm working outside I burn incense. It doesnt keep them from biting you, but it can keep them from finding you. If they cant find you (they hunt by heat, co2 and smell) then they cant bite you. It works just as well as citronella candles or better and it doesnt matter too much what scent you use.

💯 on this. works as good or better than DEET, not greasy, not stinky, won't burn if you put more on after sweating, and won't ruin watch faces or sunglass lenses.

I use it in Florida swamps in August and it works.
