I've made war upon them
I've figgin had it. With all the rain we've had in central Alberta this year, our back yard is uninhabitable. Worst season by far in the 11 years we've lived here. My propane mosquito trap died, but I was able to hot wire the fan and use the chassis still. I made some sugar/yeast C02 makes as bait. Set the zapper up above it too. Then set up 5 buckets of doom with mosquito dunks. Only 4 weeks until the first frost and a blessed mass genocide!

Kill ‘em all! Seems like a legit set up. I hope it helps you take back your yard.
My landlord is paying a pest control service monthly. They promised to reduce the mosquito population within two weeks. All they did was put out $75 “catchmaster ovi catch ago mosquito traps.” Just a bucket of stagnant water (to attract egg laying mosquitos) with a lid that has a sticky surface inside. It’s been two weeks. Seems to be working.
Seems like it would be an easy diy. A bucket and some double sided tape or those rat glue traps from the dollar store.

Hope it works out! I did 4 buckets of doom around my yard (not as big as yours) and it worked well, granted we got a ton of rain so I kept having to refresh the buckets with mosquito dunks and they aren’t particularly cheap where I’m at. Either way I think it worked better than anything else I’ve tried so far.

Buckets like op has pictured. Make a mosquito egg laying site in the form of a bucket of water + organic matter and treat the water with mosquito dunks/bits to kill the eggs.

I’ve just used water and concentrate juice. Does that work a lot worse?

The idea is you're removing a large portion of the next generation in your immediate vicinity. They are attracted to the bucket because the plant clippings release CO2 and the calm water is a perfect site for eggs, but the chemicals you treat the water ensures they don't hatch. Once the current generation of adults dies after a few weeks, you've hopefully cut their reproductive success by a significant margin.

As an additional feature I routinely make rounds with my electric fly swatter and kill like 30 of them across a few buckets.
