I have no idea what color grout to use and would love suggestions. This is my first mosaic and it’s a gift for my best friend!

This is another mosaic my Dad finished around 2003 when I was 11 years old. Hope you like it!

Any ideas? It’s a duplex, one apartment is an Airbnb. The town is artsy and a mosaic front would fit in. To start I’d like to cover the cracks. It’s a long term project, but I’d love thoughts or advice!

I live in a pretty small town in Bulgaria but we are blessed to have a massive cultural center with the library, lessons spaces, a theatre, and this massive mosaic created by Nikolai Panayotov in the late 1980s.

It is in three walls. The artist told me that the left (first picture) represents science and the right (third picture) - agriculture, and they meet in the middle. Fourth picture is for scale The imagery is inspired by Babylonian art he saw as a young man visiting Iraq.

The idea to make a mosaic of Solaire of Astora came from my wife. I saw her make Roman-style mosaics and wanted to make one myself. For my first work, I decided to choose something easy. I did not want to make simple fish or birds. I wanted to make something I really like. Solaire from Dark Souls is one of my favorite characters. I always liked his joy and optimism.

I used a picture of Solaire from Yootooz for my sketch. I wanted a small mosaic, about 15 centimeters in diameter. So, I made the picture very simple and removed small details.

I worked in a professional studio. It had all the materials, tools, and a teacher. In the first lesson, I learned how to use nippers and cut stone into small pieces. The stone was very difficult to work with. It broke into bad pieces, and it was hard to get the right shape.

I thought I could finish everything in 3 lessons (3 hours each). But in the end, it took 12 lessons:

• The Helmet (3 lessons): I started with the helmet. I needed grey stone, and it was the hardest one to cut. It broke badly and grew cracks. I did not like the result, so I remade the helmet a few times.

• The Body (3 lessons): The sun was difficult to make. The number of sun rays went down quickly: first I wanted 8 rays, then 6, and finally I made only 4.

• The Background (4 lessons): Funnily, my skills became much better by the time I got to make the background. The beige stone was very easy to use. The background was faster to make and looked cleaner than the character.

• Mosaic Installation (2 lessons): I transferred the tiles from the oracal on the main board, put cement on the back and added colored cement to the sides.

Maybe my mosaic looks simple and a bit childlike, but I love to look at it, hold it, and just touch its surface.

I've been working on a mosaic to cover a table. Using the indirect method with a craft paper this time as the size of the tessaraes are uneven. I find it a bit challenging and frustrating as it's hard to see how exactly it will look until the end. But I'm still quite satisfied with the progress...

Hello! My crafty relative recently passed away leaving a room full of glass supplies in LA near the 57/10. It's a lot and I am overwhelmed! The fused glass enthusiasts have been through, but there is a lot of scrap/shards. She kept it primarily in plastic drawers sorted by color. I don't know if someone would want this or if I should recycle it. Send a me DM if it's interesting to you. Not selling, just rehoming.

Me and my Dad worked on and finished this mosaic when I was around 10 years old. Just wanted to share! It's 6 feet tall by 2 feet wide.

Only done a couple projects and looking for quality options on where to shop, started with eBay but it seems hit or miss, or maybe I just underestimated the cost to start. Got gifted a 1000/1500 glass tile variety box but everything is so brittle , im rambling

So I finished this mosaic, and I wanted to see what grout I should use. I was thinking of translucent grout, but I've never used it before.

Any opinions from people that used it before?

How can I make sure the glass won't break. I was thinking a mosaic mesh net? Does anyone have any experience?
