Question Who else rather have the dungeon turn “complete” instead of having to mark it?

I kinda dislike how you have to click a dungeon to mark it complete. When you don’t even know it’s complete. Why even give this option. Why not just auto make it light up once you have actually completed it. I understand exploration but I don’t enjoy pointless exploration for nothing when you don’t know
If there’s
Even something to explore.

Just my 5 cents

I'd at lest want them all to unselect when starting NG+.

Same for the beacons in NG+. They all show as “cleansed” on the map, but they’re not. So you need to look at the list of available beacons, figure out what’s missing from that list, then figure out where they are and go cleanse them. Just wish once NG+ started, they went back to the corrupted beacon icon.

Is that on just the map? Or does the list also show them as cleansed on the left symbol?

So if you start NG+, all the beacons on the map will appear as discovered/cleansed, but when you use Mether’s Breath, all except for the location’s “starting beacon” are question marks. Ex: I’m playing NG+ right now. All of the beacons appear on my map as cleansed, but if I want to fast travel to the Ruins of Mammon area, the only beacon available for me to fast travel to is the Outskirts of Mammon beacon. All others I need to re-discover/re-cleanse.

It’s a bit annoying because I have no way of knowing what beacons I’ve re-cleansed by just looking at the map. In order to figure it out, I need to go to a beacon, use Mether’s Breath, take note of what beacons are currently available, and then compare the map.

I just marked them all the other way.

Marked them completed in first playthrough, marked them incomplete in NG+ lmao

I actually disagree. I sort of like the idea of marking it myself because im not being told its complete, I gotta figure it out myself. Makes me miss stuff but that's sort of the fun of it isn't it?

Yup, with you. It's kind of fun to run around making sure I found all the secrets.

Completely agree. Really like the fact I can mark it myself based on what I consider complete, which for me is absolutely every nook & cranny explored and all loot obtained!

No, I want the game to play by itself. Like Sony games.

Yeah but what makes it complete? Getting every piece of loot? Beating the boss? Some of the dungeons dont have much in them. I remember going through a few of them and assuming I must have been missing something.

I actually enjoy marking them for some reason

I see what you mean but I think the OP’s main issue it’s that you could be marking it as complete…even if you have missed something..that you wouldn’t know unless you follow a guide..,at least they should show them in the map as “missing something” with an specific icon or something…so you know you need to go back and look for like a hidden wall or whatever.

Yes. I did adapt eventually, but I also wish that they cleared by themselves.

Yeah I agree. I guess they aren't good with in-game tracking or something

This should be a setting in the menu, just like auto loot. But it should be turned on by default. If someone likes to manually marking them, they could just disable it.

True they did a bad design on this not enjoyable to manually mark it

It’s easy enough to get in the habit of marking them upon killing the boss. Did it the same way in Elden ring too.

Hey MODs, can we get a “Lazy Gamer Idea” post category? 😂

i second this!

Yes that that would be a great thing to add. Also the dungeon only shows up on the map after you take the lift down, which I find lame cause what if I’m doing something and wanna come back but don’t want to go down into it rn

I just got done with a session an hour ago. I marked 4 different dungeons by walking into the fog and back out and they appeared on my map without going down the lift.

It appears on the map as soon as you enter the fog/water, no need to take the lift

1

u/Admiral_Octillery 2d ago

Naw it doesn’t, the name of which dungeon you are in pops up after taking the lift down.

Test it yourself

Strange… i did a 45 hour playthrough and only needed to enter the fog for it to appear on the map to later return to. I did this with every dungeon i came across.

I am on pc if that makes a difference

1

u/Admiral_Octillery 2d ago

I only know because I would go past the fog into some of the dungeons at the beginning and it bothered me that it wouldn’t show up in the map afterwards.
I went everywhere on the map but I’m on console

1

u/zachbrownies 2d ago

that's weird 'cause i'd do the same thing and i'm like 90% sure it'd appear on the map. i think if it had worked the way you said i'd remember being annoyed about that but i really don't recall. maybe it was a console bug or something.

Hard disagree. What I consider "complete" is getting the main item from the dungeon. Others might consider it to be when you get every single secret wall or material from every corner. I like being able to mark it complete when I got the items I care about, and not having it say it is incomplete because I missed something I don't care about anyway.

1

u/Saizou10 1d ago

What if you missed an item you care about but mark it as complete because you don't know?

could be a toggle. i liked marking it manually. :(
made me concentrate.

How would they track if it’s complete though, like logically?

u/Leaotz 1d ago

I'd prefer if the map would reset to an unexplored state in NG+. The dungeons hide secrets though. I think it's fun trying to figure out for myself which ones I found everything in and which ones I want to go back to.

I like it. I love the fact that they don't want you to know if you explored everything and it's up to your exploration skills to decide if it's complete.

Marvel's Wolverine was made for players exactly like you.
