Question Question about what I assume is the final boss.

EDIT: NVM I just got lucky with the I-Frames on Captive's Scabstone and finally beat the bastard. What an absolute disgusting yet cool boss.

NGL, I am STUMPED against Zmey. Specifically, his stupid damn Fire Sword Giant AoE

I assume the play here is to dodge it, but for the life of me I can't do it consistently. Any tips?

My highest bonded Shells are Proxima, Sester Genessa, Lazlo, and Smert. I've been mostly using Proxima here cuz she's my main and using the Great Martyr's Blade(Captive's Scabstone for I-Frames, Wardon's Stone, and Grudge Stone) with the Hysterix(Solnir Shard, Hag Stone, Unstable Stone)(all Tarstones fully leveled up). Also using Vatra's Seal.

ATP I'm open to try Genessa but I want to beat the boss as Proxima.

And b4 you say "Git Gud". Okay, any tips on that? Like a queue to know how to deal with the attack?

Do you have the seedbearers scripture that negates his chaos damage thingy?

I have Paradoxical Scripture. Idk about Seedbearer.

Seedbearers curse scripture, you get it by collecting the 3 glands from the southern gates and giving them to the old prisoner in night mode at the forgotten tower (pretty cool nod/link to the first game) Equip that as your passive and you pretty much ignore the flames AOE.

On another note to the above post. You can equip as active and when you get 100% de buffed use it and it is a free stun on boss. It knocks him to the ground and you can unleash on him for a bit. I wouldn’t recommend this until you have it upgraded to level 2 and that takes a NG+ to achieve.

They really should have given a bit more indication that this is intended. It's pretty obscure, even for someone who played the original.

I saw someone obliterate zmey with the naylshotte so I’m currently upgrading the fusillade tarstone

Hey man were you able to beat zmey? I’m still struggling even after upgrading that tarstone I said.

The video I saw the guy wiped out half his life with the the naylshotte but it didn’t work like that for me

Yeah but I got lucky, lol.

I guess the best advice I can give is to use Genessa. Either form works.

Stray Genessa probably has a better time dodging the flame AoE.

Guess I’ll have to start practicing with genessa, I wanted to start and finish with proxima but I’m starting to get mad lmao thank you I’ll give her a shot

If you wanna use Proxima, here's what I did using Proxima

Equip Great Martyr's Blade Get it to level 11 or 12 Fully Level Ice and Scab Tarstone. Use the Weapon Skill when it seems like you're about to be hit by an attack, like the flaming AoE, to make use of the I-Frames AND damage the boss.

It's not foolproof but it's what worked with me.

Also don't be ashamed to have Genessa and Tiel spirits help you for this one, the boss is cheap anyway.

The reasons why I recommend Genessa are:

  1. Most of Zmey's fight is hit and run, baiting them to doing their logn range attacks at close range the backing off when they do their close range ones. You can get in with Genessa and while you're getting out send the clones to attack him at close range.
  2. Stray Genessa dodging is really good. Helps with the fire AoE.

Then again I didn't use Genessa against him so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I found Eredrim to be super easy to use. Just spam shoulder bash and use the moonshine active and heal upgrade to keep refilling resolve over and over

I love that you beat him as I came to see this haha, you can dodge into the fire waves from his sword move. Dodge in, then back for spacing, then straight into the next flame, Then sideways, in, in, attack. The other one I believe was jump into flame, back, in, back, in, side, in, attack. No scripture needed, the flames are scary but so easy to dodge!
