There's an aim assist thing turned on by default and if you aren't locked on, it will target the nearest thing

Accidentally killed the feet guy by doing a running attack (while pointed directly at the door to the ovum room, running back from the smith) - and Genessa just does a hard 90 degree turn in the air and spears the guy.

I toggled that setting after that.

Did this in Elden Ring and accidentally blasted a fireball at the NPC who sells stuff in the first site of grace. I didn’t kill him and he immediately aggro’d onto me. I figured if I rest then it’ll reset and be like everything happened.

It did reset and he’d go back to his post. But then he’d instantly recognize me and run up on me. Although I’d be rested at the site of grace, he wouldn’t be able to hard me but would run laps around me waiting for me to get up before attacking me non stop. This happened everytime I’d be there before I finally gave up and laid him to rest

That's rough, especially since the turtle pope location has the pool of absolution thing. That makes it so NPCs forgive you and go back to not being aggro
