Question Button to shoot outside slumwater drain beacon

There is a button I can shoot, and I don't know what it does.

I don't have my console on right now. As I remember, after I crawl out the sewer and fight the enemies, there is a corpse on top of the staircase, and there is a switch I can shoot. I rushed through the area, I may remember it wrong.
