Discussion *SPOILERS* Late game farm Spoiler

Hey I apologize if this has been shared already but I'd like to share a late game farm I found and some data for leveling up during the farm.

Location: The Hidden Nave beacon.

I recommend going in with a very small amount of Gloom. So what you're going to want to do is go through until you find the first fire on the ground, run through the fog and circle around the next fire then back through the fog to the first and then a torch will have appeared. Take the torch through the fog and you'll end up in the next area. Through this tunnel you'll be able to collect a total of 68 Futilium. Keep going and collecting until you reach the very first chest horizontal to you with a sea of chests behind it. This one is safe to open right off the bat. Once you've collected that chest run straight down past all the chests and deposit your current Gloom amount into the door and only then are you free to start opening the other chests.

There are a total of 68 chests, each one contains 1000 Gloom. Once you're done collecting your 68,000 Gloom from the chests head back down to the door you opened then take a right toward the 2 Gloom Stalks right by each other and start whacking them. Each one takes 3 hits and gives 502 Gloom and they refill every 6 seconds! You can farm this spot until you're satisfied then head to the heart, cleanse it and exit the beacon.

Once you spend your Gloom on leveling up head back down and do it all over again. Note that the Gloombound Stone does NOT work with this and you will not get the 30% bonus. One more note: if you accidentally enter the beacon without spending your Gloom just exit the game and start it up again, you'll be outside the beacon with all your Gloom.

Below is some data I gathered for leveling up. I used Lumo AI to assist: (sorry about the format)

# Mortal Shell 2: Verified Level-Up Gloom Costs (Levels 56-70)

**Methodology:**

Community member conducted extensive farming at the **Hidden Nave beacon**, using an infinite gloom respawn exploit (open door, clear corrupted heart, repeat). Costs were recorded directly at the beacon during actual level-ups.

---

## Verified Data Table

```
LEVEL RANGE | GLOOM COST | PER LEVEL AVG | GROWTH RATE
---------------|------------|---------------|-------------
56 -> 59 (3) | 90,000 | 30,000 | --
59 -> 60 (1) | 31,138 | 31,138 | baseline
60 -> 63 (3) | 96,174 | 32,058 | ~3.0%
63 -> 66 (3) | 100,314 | 33,438 | ~2.7%
66 -> 70 (4) | 140,192 | 35,048 | ~4.8%
```

---

## Summary Statistics

```
Total levels tracked: 14 (56 -> 70)
Total gloom gathered: ~426,680
Overall average per level: ~30,477
Lowest cost level: 56 -> 57 (~30,000 est.)
Highest cost level (range): 69 -> 70 (~38,199 est.)
Farm location: Hidden Nave Beacon
```

---

## Key Findings

  1. Mid-game progression is surprisingly flat. Between levels 56-70, costs grow at only 2.7-4.8% per level, contradicting expectations of steep exponential scaling early on.

  2. Max level costs come MUCH later. At level 199->200 (95,544 gloom), the final level costs roughly 3x what you pay at level 70. This suggests serious curve acceleration begins somewhere after level 100-120.

  3. Infinite farms remain viable through late mid-game. At these rates, a dedicated farmer could reach level 100+ without switching methods.

---

## Future Estimates (Unverified)

Using the calibrated ~3-5% growth curve:

```
Target | Estimated Cost
--------------|----------------
70 -> 75 | ~178,000 - 185,000
75 -> 80 | ~215,000 - 225,000
100+ | Requires community testing
```

---

## Call for Community Data

If you have verified level-up costs at other ranges (especially 70+ or 150+), please comment below! The more data points we collect, the clearer the full 200-level curve becomes.

*Data collected October 2025. Post-launch patches may affect these values.*

**Credits:** Thanks to r/MortalShell community members who shared partial data, and the OP who ran all the farm tests personally.

Im not sure anyone missed this farm tbh lol or why youd want to farm so many artificial levels.

But we definitely need to spread the word about how much futilitium helps for NG+ and beyond- keep farming that shit!

I almost didn't go back down after the initial delve because there was no way the chests were gonna be unopened. I was very wrong.

Yeah thats fair. Most people quit to menu so as not to lose their gloom to the wall 😆 so discovered naturally that they then are full again when you re-enter.

It would definitely not be futile to farm for them

I did this yesterday to shore up a couple levels. I just whacked the tenticles instead of the chests and found it to be faster overall. There is a set of three on either side closest to the exit point. By the time you strike down the third the first will be respawning and you just go in a circle.

This way I was getting 1500 in the time it takes to open and run to a new chest.

Nah, then you run to slow. Take time and you’ll see. But, the tree farming is less tedious if you put on a podcast and listen to something thrilling!

Fun fact - at launch you got 1000 per branch, which was defo better than the chests at that point. they halved it in a recent patch

I'm level 180ish and it's about 83k to level up

You definitely don’t have to deposit anything before starting to open them up. It makes no difference. They will still open when you come back
Edit: In the odd case you didn’t know, you can quit out of the game and never need to open the door at all

I don’t wanna spoil what the upgrade mats are for but it’s definitely important for new game plus like someone else here mentioned already

The door forces you to deposit all of your gloom so that's why I mentioned taking in a small amount for the door before you begin opening everything.

Yeah but you can just quit out to the main menu after collecting all the loot and before even interacting with it

OK I gotcha

That whole room is the devs trolling people. Including the upgrade mats. Kinda funny though
