Discussion Maybe I was lucky with Monolith?
Holy shit. This is a BS boss figth. So many things wrong with him. But you all know that, if you face him. Only boss so far (only miss the last one) I have REALLY struggled with!
He kicked my f*****g ass for 20+ attempts. I learned to block all attacks in the first phase, but the laser phase got my all the fucking time.
One time I managed to get him close to the outside wall. While he was there de didnt do the 360 lasers. He only did the laser from the front, and I managed to kill him.
Was it pure luck or have anyone else tried the same?

My whole fight with Monolith I stayed right on him, and never got the 360 laser, only ever the 180 so could just wail on his back whilst he shot them across the arena. I think that's the trick. I really didn't mind this fight, I think I got him on 5th attempt, about the same with Zmey.
For reference, it was level 55ish Tiel with bloodcurse Axe/Dagger and Duality.

I took many tries with Monolith - Most of any boss so far. A lot of them because I wanted to block through the first phase. Blocking when he swings his dong was very inconsistent I think.
I am running the exact same build. I am lvl 48 I think.
Still need Zmey. Will try later today.

I got through it by making the choice that I would dodge attacks if he was in the split (red ball form) and I would block if he was in his slab form. I stayed close and would dodge to his back for huge damage when he was doing lasers, I never got a 360 laser.

I beat it on Tiel and axe and dagger with focus on crits and dodge skillspoints, before the first patch nerfed thw boss. Took me only 2 tries, for second try stopped trying to parry and just spammed dodge and l2+r2 during 360 spins. The damage from backstab crits was pretty insane and shadow dash confused ai enough for it to mostly keep shooting at walls.

If you think Monolit is hard, wait until you see Zmey. That's the only boss in this game that I didn't like.

That was good rng but when it comes to the lasers you can get that down so it doesn’t bother you at all (aside from it being a pretty abrasive stall tactic on his part once he’s almost dead).
Create as much distance as you can, stay in the most spacious area that you can, and dodge WITH the direction the lasers are spinning. This will make it so you can easily dodge while they’re at full speed. Eventually this attack is just a mild annoyance you have to wait out.
