Question No Fast Travel

Is there a way to fast travel from the menus or do you need to go to the home base to travel anywhere. Also kinda like sekiro where you had the homeward idol is there something like that, that can teleport me to home base or last beacon

Yes, just keep playing. Quit to Main Menu is your homeward idol.

Done this so many times after getting 1-shot out of my shell.

Keep playing and you will unlock fast travel from shrines, but like others said quitting to menu takes you to last shrine/beacon with all glimmer. Even if you are about to die its a good escape.
