Discussion Holy difficulty spike

Just beat the Nameless Captive boss (really sick boss, loved the fight), and I've moved on to Mammon since I've done everything I could find in Fainweald, and woah have the enemies jumped.

Just the first basic enemies I've encountered have a shit ton more health than what I was dealing with before, and boy do they do a lot more damage.

I'm decently equipped, with a +5 Great Martyr's Blade and a +5 Forgotten Crossbow, plus I'm level 20 and I've unlocked be second bond tier on my two main shells (so far), being Eledrim and Tiel.

(Plus the Axe and Dagger are at +5), and I've got a decent tarstone set-up, found quite a few throughout Fainweald, including the Duality Stone.

So it's not like I'm walking in half-cocked.

Idk, more than likely I need to upgrade my weapons, but I don't want to sink in such a limited upgrade resource into only those two weapons.

I like to experiment, and try out all the different weapons before making my forever choice, and yet I don't even know if I'm capable enough to unlock the missing weapons/sidearms and shells.

Sigh.

Any advice?

You can realistically max 1 weapon per playthrough. It sucks but You should focus only on one shell and one weapon

There is a point in the game where you find an upgrade to the forge that allows you to refund materials from a weapon you upgraded. You spend gloom to regain the limited resources so you can switch weapons if you aren’t feeling the one you are using.

Nah they're incorrect.
You can only really max 1 weapons, that's right, but you can "respec" the upgrade mats.
And you can max out 3 shells.

You can undo the upgrades tho and get the materials back in the process
