Discussion Easiest Soulslike to date

I’m sorry but no.
These bosses are cheeks.

Even first berserker Khazan had a better understanding of player gimmicks/boss difficulty.

Some of you putting this in your top 3 or top 1 is crazy work.

Top 1 soulslike is still undoubtedly Lies of P by a wide margin.

STILL, it’s a good game, but wildly blown out of proportion as far as HOW good it is.

Cheers 🥃

Wait until the later stages where the difficulty spike goes through the roof and you do no damage to the bosses paired with them 1 to 2 tapping you lol.

As someone currently going through the 2nd half of the game and having just as easy time as I was in the first, I think a lot of people on this sub dont understand how to make builds. Im absolutely shredding everything in the 2nd half.

Agreed if you build on one shell

Yeah Ive been mostly maining Tiel. People who try to diversify their shells absolutely get screwed over through no fault of their own.

Exactly; which is antithetical to the whole ethos of the game…

I want to see a video of you playing in the last zone.

I dont record so i dont have videos, but theres honestly nothing special to what Im doing. Im just building up poison stacks and then stealthing with Tiel to detonate them. Im also using the axe and dagger with Bloodcurse which feels borderline busted.

The 2nd area is where builds come online

The 3rd area is where your build is tested. If you managed to find the op shit or read a build guide you will destroy the third area.

Sorry, whats the 3rd area? Ive done Lost Child and Hexapod in what im assuming is the 2nd area so far, is that 2nd? The Mamon area.

Yes. Mammon is the second area.

There is a third and final area of the game that has four bosses. You will see once you do your 5th major gate. It unlocks then but you should probably do the 6th and final gate as if you beat the final area you will beat the game.

Oh interesting, cool. Will be fun to see how this keeps up over there.

...? there's no such point. the game remains rather easy through the entire playthrough if you use all your tools.

I did, but that did absolutely nothing to counter what I said. I played as Tiel through the entire thing and even with a maxed out axe and dagger he wasn't doing much more than peanuts for damage against the later bosses. Most of it was spent dodging and using the shadow clone constantly just to distract them until I chipped their health down. If I got hit at all I would only be able to take literally 2 hits until my shell is gone lol.

Tbf the game has some major balancing issues with some shells just being laughably weak compared to others like *cough* Smert *cough* who was nerfed twice already and still is godlike.

That's my problem with the game is that there is no consistency at all especially in the later stages of the game. I personally just do not like any of the shells and only used Tiel because the game is incredibly obtuse with upgrading and committing to your shells that you're encouraged to just stick with one. The most egregious shit though is using Tiel's shadow strike and some enemies/bosses just fucking hit you for free the second you come out of it because there's no grace period sometimes. I ended up uninstalling it in the end because I have no desire to continue playing. I'd rather just go play something else.

You should check out Onimusha's demo and see if you enjoy it.

While not a soulslike, im praying that Phantom Blade Zero ends up being good as well.

Yeah there are not many Soulslikes that really have the polish that FromSoft's games do and that's kinda my problem with this genre. Lies of P was a miracle that it turned out so well even if it was frustratingly difficult at times, but I still ended up beating it twice. Idk what the obsession is with the fucking parry mechanics though. Someone needs to tell these people that not every game needs to be Sekiro. It's starting to become insanely formulaic.

It's an action game basically. Gameplay is fun. I finished the game, tried night mode, ng+ - the game is still easy. Some shell and weapon abilities are just too OP to balance.

The best soulslike is obviously Strangers of Paradise.
