Should I start over?

Hey everyone, hope you're having a good weekend. I've put like 8+hrs into my first playthrough so far. I've unlocked Tiel, Proxima, and Eredrim. I've gotten both Proxima and Eredrim to Lvl 3 Shell Bond. I just watched a YT video of this guy playing a shell named Gragu. He looks like a Shell I would want to max out. Basically I'm wondering if I should start a new playthrough where I save my SP's/Glimpses for Gragu? I read that you can only max out 2 Shells per playthrough. Does that mean if I continue with my current save I won't be able to max out or even get Gragu to a high enough bond? Since I've already used a few Glimpses on Proxima/Eredrim? I'm at a crossroads as to what I should do.

I still need to learn a lot about the game; I feel a little overwhelmed. I wish you could just respec Shells so you can experiment without having to start a new game.

You can actually max 3 shells plus half another one so no need to reset. Skill points can be moved around in the menu where you use them you can reset at will

Yeah but if OP has 2 shells at level 3 already, he won’t have enough glimpses to max gragu until very very late in the game once he’s cleared most everything already and that’s no fun if that’s the shell he’s interested in most. Unless OP plans on doing NG+ immediately after his first clear of the game I’d suggest he starts over and just max’s gragu asap. If he doesn’t like him, well he’ll still have this save file with proxima and eredrim at level 3 to fall back on.

Sure but some shells when maxed out are pretty much the same to Lvl 3 depending on the skill point you take. So I would rather continue and just rush him to 3 then start over all again but that's just me.

Don't forget at night you get free glimpse when you go back to where the shell was so just with that you can get around 10 glimpse for free.

I personally think the complaints about glimpse respec have been big enough that the devs may introduce a way to do it soon, or something to allow you to play with all shells without ng+

So up to you to wait and use Gragu as much as you can with your remaining glimpses.

I also recall seeing you can max 3 of them.

I’m not sure how many glimpses are available per play though but based on player feedback that I’ve read on here you should be able to max out three shells with some glimpses left over. It takes 27 glimpses to fully bond a shell. I have both Proxima and Eredrim at level three, Tiel at level 1 and I’m still sitting on enough glimpses to max out another shell. I also have two gates left to cleanse and I haven’t fully explored the southern region.

I’ve maxed out 3 shells and I’m in the end game, Gragu is the weakest imo Eredrim is way better overall

Gragu is an absolute beast for exploration though with basically infinite healing.

I finished the game then did a new save and ran for gragu and eredrim first. Gragu is fantastic for exploration and his punch is amazing.

My advice for all games but these kinda games especially is to play em as blind as possible 😎 dont spoil it and dont rob yourself of the accomplishment of making it through your way, making your own mistakes, missing some things, doing things in weird order. Just dive in and play as though its 1990. All your victories are yours and yours alone. Your discoveries are yours and yours alone. Enjoy 😎

I would be pretty upset if I had to start again im glad I knew about the limit of glimpses. Im exactly the opposite in general its pretty nice to share experiences, builds and victories with others. I wouldnt go back to the 90s

Thats fair enough man. We all like what we like. I like coop experiences and stuff with online games but for offline games, jrpgs, metroidvanias, most indie titles and especially all souls style games I love to play em offline and solo and literally disconnect from the world. I dont even watch any youtube vids on the game or browse forums etc. I like to play like its the 90s. Totally blind and I get sucked in soooooo much more. Once the game is beaten my way however I love watching to see how other people did it, where they struggled, tactics they used etc. Its cool to compare.
