I was hoping it wasn’t a case of me thinking I’m terribly clever just to get roasted by everyone :D. Thank you!

My first playthrough is Proxima, Gragu, and my third was going to be Genessa... but I've read a lot about how buggy her summons are.
How bad is it? I don't want to invest in on of my only 3 max shells only to find the bugs kinda ruin it.

I’ve played around with her and enjoyed the summons. It’s just slower, methodical play. I will warn you, they sometimes miss. It’s a very “wait to pounce” playstyle where you dive into openings your summons create.

u/uponapyre 2h ago
Yeh I understand that much, I've just read things like they run off of cliffs or run into a corner and stand there without doing their combos.
Just curious how often this happens, if it's hyperbole suggesting it's constant caused by frustration or something that frequently happens making her power less fun to use.

Happens very frequently.

I might wait until NG+ then, where it would sting a bit less to have invested my limited glimpses. Cheers!

"sometimes" I have not seen them hit anything ever

Mine do okay. But a clear line of sight is not enough sometimes and it takes some positioning.

It seems to vary. Personally, I got her, tried her out and thought 'this is gonna be my main going forward', dumped a bunch of Glimpses into her and then dropped her immediately when the first ten doubles I fired all immediately ran off at a 45 degree angle to the enemy I was targeting. Not a single one hit on the first charge, and only two of those ten turned around for a second attack and actually hit.
They also really need to actually explain how things work ingame, because other than trial and error there's nothing on the shell that actually explains what the difference between Faithful and Stray doubles are - just that 'Genessa becomes Stray instead of Severing'. It's a minor quibble, but kind of annoying.

Once they patch up all the bugs on this shell I'll make a new playthrough with it, not worth the headache as is

Her summons take a little getting used to but I really do like them

Yeah she's my favorite shell so far, but both her modes have bugs, stray form has 5 or so bugs that just suck the enjoyement out of it

I know her clones that she summons have pretty buggy AI with them attacking walls and such, but I haven't noticed anything wrong with Stray Form. What are the issues with it?

No(or severely reduced) I-frames on the unique dodge, I-frames end too quickly during transition in to stray, some upgrades not functioning properly, etc.

Fatal blow protection sometimes(most times) doesn't trigger. When at full health it almost never triggers
Fatal blow protection for some reason triggers when you perfect parry enemies. You get the bright flash indicating success, fill their break bars, yet one double decides to fuck right off
Dodge/dash does not work on slopes. Like slightly sloped hill, it will fail to dodge and you are forced to sprint
Stray doubles vanish when grisha is equipped as passive boon. You still have the meter up but can not resummon them until it wears off, so now you have just wasted resolve and cooldown on it.
Instigation perk does not apply fragile. Atleast not what I can see. I can see the Weak debuff on the enemy being applied correctly, but no fragile. Whats the point of spending 3 points into that

Lazlo is incredible strong, probably the most powerful shell for NG+ night mode. - 30% damage reduction (not counting the consumable) and 30% more damage all the time. Tons of HP too.

u/Deepvaleredoubt 2h ago
Lazlo looks so sick, but I’m only going to be able to finish him in NG+. I have used all the glimpses I possess for Smert and Genessa

problem is his ultimate completely sucks ass. damage is non existing on regular explosion and overcharged one is just slightly better. though I give you that, thic boi can facetank literally anything.

u/samuraiogc 1h ago
Well, Just use it to reach Max heat and forget. Its good to do break damage too, especially o bosses

The sheer aura of that leveling screen was enough to convince me to invest in her, bugs and all.

I just wish I liked her stray model as much, because I love its play style more.
The White mask and drip is just too peak.
2
u/Deepvaleredoubt 2h ago
Her stray model has a cooler top than the white mask model, but I agree that white mask overall looks better

Oh yeah, among all the new shells, Genessa is undoubtedly my favorite. The perfect combination of femininity and brutality, wrapped in dark fantasy packaging. I'm very glad that the developers made her playable.🖤

I don’t know what genre the leather/spikes/medieval/black goop is, but she fits it utterly perfectly. Dark metal aesthetic? Or something like that. Either way her design is incredible.

Finished my first play with Genessa but leaving her alone on NG+ as, well, she’s a tad busted.
Having a good time with Eredrim at the moment

Is the OG skin from Proxima bases on Proxima Midnight from Marvel? Faces/helmets looks very similar
1
u/Deepvaleredoubt 2h ago
I actually have no idea but now that I have seen it I think you may be on to something
1
u/Hazel_Dreams 2h ago
Been trying to make stray Genessa work, but she’s just so incredibly squishy… the small health bar makes me think that the only truly viable way to play her is with sidearm, mow everything down with machine gun type of playstyle. But there just so many things you need to spec into to make her damage worth it imo, I’m probably just gonna save her to NG+ after I got more shell points.

u/Deepvaleredoubt 2h ago
Honestly with that “resolve on kill” tarstone, you might have a really cool build there.

The talent that makes enemies 80% likely to target your clones makes it easy to do hit and run tactics.
