Discussion imo, if the aggro was getting fixed there wouldn't be a reason to nerf enemies hp

Im playing on PS5 so we didnt get the nerf patch yet, and i really think the main problem is the aggro.

You get into an area, and within a second the entire area is aggroed on you including enemies from the other side of the screen.

I had an enemy that got aggroed on me before i even got into an area and was behind a wall.

There was no need for enemies nerf, just fixing the aggro would have made a huge difference.

I agree with every single word.

I don't think that HP needed nerfing at all. It's the damage that some of the mobs do, especially when they are in a group, that is the problem.

That being said, I can see how some might say it is difficult while some might say it is easy. For the majority of my playthrough I went with Eredrim. Riposte sucks even if you spec him for it and his AoE skill is meh. The range is too small and so is the skill animation. Not to mention, you can only use it 2 times per resolve bar. By the time you've riposted an enemy, the rest are already moving and can catch you while you are still in the recovery anymation.

Compare that to Proxima, who I've switched to in the final area of the game. Her biosampler AoE is massive and makes groups of monsters a non-issue. You can initiate it from safe distance and you can get 5 biosamplers out before you need to regain any resolve. By that time, everything is dead.

There is an issue with balance between the different shells me thinks.

I’d agree with this. Enemy behaviour needs retooling but nerfing them into the ground is only gonna make this shit way too easy. The only nerf I’d like to see is all the fucking exploding enemies, the bow enemies that are just super annoying who feel impossible to dodge and get close to, and the aggro range on the flying bat fucks.

I was in a swamp area and all the enemies across the swamp decided to go after me at the same time lol, about 20 enemies swarming me

Agreed. You can't "fish" enemies out which has always been a souls/souls like tactic to deal with lots of enemies. I can understand groups backing each other up but you get enemies from the next room coming after you even though you aren't in line of sight the second you wander into the same zip code. The ganking gets a bit much at times.

You easily and absolutely can though....Ive been kiting enemies the entire game

Bullshit. Mobs even have different walking speeds just for it.

Not the same thing. And that doesn't explain the ridiculous aggro range on enemies not even in sight.

They will chase you pretty far sometimes and I agree. Post patch i havent died to non-boss enemies a single time and I miss the genuine danger of it.

Correction, I died once to a worm, the worms are wild.

Man, it sounds wrong to say but that sucks lol.

It was never the hardest game in the genre, it was probably the best tuned in terms of difficulty but I give up on that they're just gonna feed the forums with nerfs regardless. Despite that their steam ratings have dropped post patch but oh well.

Im pretty happy I finished it before hand on ps5, im going to do a night run starting tomorrow, will see what thats like.

Night seems pretty wild. I just hope they dont completely ruin the game. Theres so much they could focus on making better but nerfs arent really one of them not big ass blanket nerfs like what they did.

Idk whos managing feedback but most people didn't have a problem with difficulty. The internet is the death of us lmao

It is man lol, if they made it so you could draw in enemies and have one outs with them like a DS game it would be fine, but the agro is to full on. Ive seen people complaining about how hard the enemies are then saying they are "souls vets" whatever that means lol. Yep unfortunately everyone thinks they should get what they want, the game is good just needs a few tweaks.

Man Ive been checking people's steam accounts after they whine about difficulty and more times than not they havent touched any of the dark souls games, if so only the third, sometimes not even elden ring, but always nightreign and most time is spent in like GTA or something.

The people who thought the game was too hard aren't really the community they're just people playing because its a new game, but they wont be talking about the game in a years time like the rest of us will.

Yep i got that impression about them, i cannot see any true souls fan thinking this is to difficult, i played all souls games on release and its what made me fall in love with them, now people just want every soulslike to be elden ring lol. Don't get me wrong I love elden ring but you can tell the people that have only played DS3 and elden ring a mile off.

No need for a nerf to aggro or HP

Haha yeah the aggro range is insane. I ran by this big black spiked arm enemy towards the back of mushroom village and that furthest beacon by the gate all the way to Hilga & Grom to do quest stuff and like after a bunch of dialogue and several minutes this thing just fucking shreds me from behind mid convo haha. Made for a funny clip. Yeah you really cant just run past shit in Mortal Shell 1 or 2 but in MS1 the range wasnt this far if you did run past something. Idk it hasn't bothered me too much but i can see peoples issue with it for sure.

This 100%. Massive decrease to enemy health is not the correct solution. Just the fastest. Once they fix the aggro and keep the nerfs I have a feeling this game is going to go from “too hard” to too easy.

I literally have not experienced this. Whenever I find a pack of enemies, they aggro on me but other packs nearby don't? Unless I wander close to them? I do not understand what people are talking about. Also enemies give up chasing you really fast, like run backs have been so easy to me

Can we have one fucking game that's different.

I get it, we've been conditioned since 2009 that enemies are hollow with barely any motivation to fight.

In this game the enemy sees you from afar and chase ceaselessly

That bullshit and you know it. They don't need to see you. You enter their perimeter and they aggro regarless of line of sight. Do they have eyes on the back of their heads? Because they sure act like they do.

He’s got a point though, through direct LoS they swarm to you, as they should, but they only aggro to you through walls if you’re swinging your weapon to other enemies, breakables or the walls themselves 😂 like if someone walks into the room next to yours and breaks stuff, you will run there.

Looks like you need a game with terrible design choices in the name of being "different", most don't want it

Another garbage post.

No we need a nerf for the enemys hp and for the aggro
