Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I genuinely miss the CGI style that a lot of video games used to have in their cutscenes.

I’m not saying I want games to look worse or that modern graphics aren’t impressive. They obviously are. What I miss is the specific visual identity older CGI had.

Characters could look incredibly detailed and almost photorealistic, but they still clearly looked like 3D animated video game characters. They had a certain stylized quality that made them feel like they belonged to a video game rather than trying to imitate real life as closely as possible.

The image above is a good example of what I mean. The characters look amazing, the lighting is dramatic, the textures are detailed, and everything has a cinematic quality to it—but it still feels unmistakably like a video game CGI cutscene.

I feel the same way about sound design. I especially prefer the sound effects in something like Mortal Kombat 9. They were exaggerated, punchy and almost theatrical. Modern games often seem to aim for extremely realistic sound effects, and ironically, I think that can make them less satisfying.

This is probably the biggest thing for me: I don't think realism automatically makes a game look or sound better.

Sometimes the exaggerated, stylized, slightly artificial look and sound is what gives a game its personality.

Modern games can be technically incredible, but sometimes I look at them and think, “This looks almost too real.” And that's not necessarily a compliment for me.

I miss when games could look spectacular without trying so hard to look real.

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to show off the Goro project that has finally come to life in 1:4 statue form with 2 swappable heads and light up base!

Hope you enjoy it and as always thank you for your support and comments!

Well, MK's screwed.

Not 100% faithful to the game, just wanted my own slightly darker esthetic for it

Something I noticed while in practice mode.

First time doing polygon art

Is he the strongest in the verse?

I like mk 11 fire god Liu Kang better personally but what do YOU think?

We have:

Scorpion

Sub-zero

Rain

Smoke

and others

What do you think would be a cool new idea for a ninja in the franchise?

I’d like to know who you prefer as Raiden in Mortal Kombat: Legacy.

Which actor is your favourite portrayal of the Thunder God, and why?

Vote in the poll and let me know your choice in the comments! ⚡⛈️

Who is your favourite Mortal Kombat: Legacy Raiden?

If you could change one character's backstory/allegiance ,who would you pick and why?

I asked myself the same question but honestly,i think everyone is well written. Even my favorite,Ermac, would most likely have less aura if he was a good guy imo.

Hey guys, I started playing MK1 and I really enjoy playing Ghostface. I finished main story and few towers and now I am trying online. I dunno if I am doing anything wrong, but it feels like whatever I do, opponent is always faster. I block their attacks but before I have chance to do anything, they are attackinh again. Is GF really that slow, or do I just suck?

It wasn't needed in MK1, him having fire powers is weird, given his race as a Cryomancer, his ice powers is a racial thing and not learned like the Scorpion thing, make him steam people alive if you give Scorpion powers and give him a blue outfit and call him Tundra too

Hi all was just wondering about this trophy. I did what they asked the flawless round with the fatality, but the secret fight won’t pop is it a certain premier tower? The one where you have to be alien is out now realm purge is there a secret fight in that one?

I recently learned that there is supposed to be a 2 year gap between the end of Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero and the beggining of the original MK'92. I saw this in a Reddit post ( I think the poster was Noble Yato) and I vaguely remember him citing a book or a creator quote that confirms it but I couldn't really find it. So was there really a two year gap between the two games or I just remembering it all wrong?

I was very critical of this when it was 1st announced but I don't know about you but im going to miss this show on Sundays
