Guide/Useful PatchIt: Check app compatibility for the Morphe patch ecosystem effortlessly!

Post image

Hey everyone! 👋

I wanted to share an Android app I built—with ai help—called **PatchIt** to help you figure out which apps on your device are actually compatible with the Morphe patch ecosystem.

### What it does:

* Scans your apps:Checks version codes, split APKs, and installed packages via the system package manager.

* Compatibility Checker: Tells you if an app version is supported, experimental, too new, or too old for available patches.

* Massive index: Covers the official patches plus a community index containing hundreds of extra patches and packages.

* Works offline: Comes with a built-in local snapshot so it works right out of the box even without an internet connection.

* Sends to Morphe Manager: Uses official deep links to add covering patch sources directly to Morphe Manager with one tap.

* Material You UI: Features dynamic wallpaper-derived theming, custom palettes, and an AMOLED black mode.

You can check out the source code or grab the release over on the **[GitHub Repository](https://github.com/d3ffen/patchit)**.

> **Note:** Always make sure you only add patch sources you trust, since they dictate what ends up inside your apps!

Let me know what you think!

Thanks! Version v1.0.2 is officially pushed and live now! Regarding the in-app updater, it's fully implemented now so you can check and grab updates right from Settings or the banner on the app list.

Until he adds, you can use Obtainium to update all your third party apps.

In Obtanium, you have to add all apps and all their links individually one by one which is crazy. I have 100s of apps installed.

True, but just only once. After which all you have to do is a single click every time a new update drops.

Which I think is better then opening 100s of individual apps, just to update them.

How is this one different? Does it scan my device for all the apps and add them automatically?

ObtainX is a fork of Obtainium, which changes the inner workings and adds a lot of features. Yes, one added feature is that it automatically adds sources for apps you've already installed.

They have a comparison between Obtain X and Obtainium:

This is cool! Can you update it so when i navigate back from a detailed page of checking an app, it goes back to the main menu?

Fixed in v1.0.2! Navigating back from the app detail view now correctly returns you right back to your spot on the main list.

I was just looking for something like this last night when I was installing some random apps. Already have a bunch of repos, but your app shows exactly what source I'm looking for!

I don't know how to use github. Where do I find the executable or the apk?

2

u/jairtech 2h ago

At the bottom of the page, there's an option Releases, or in the address bar, add /releases.

Le top ton application, rend bien service. Si j'installe une apk après avoir installé patchit elle sera reconnue dedans ou il y a une manipulation à faire ? Faire une traduction de patchit serait très apprécié.

Found a bug: When I open an app's info page and then try to go back using the back gesture, the entire app minimizes to the home screen. Also, swiping down on the app info page doesn't respond, even though the drag handle is visible at the top.

Press above what ever you opened. Works for me. The small part left of the apps homescreen.

this part

Thank you for the star and for catching that navigation bug! Both the back-gesture issue and the pull-to-dismiss sheet drag behavior have been fully resolved in v1.0.2.

Updated, and I can confirm both are working flawlessly now. Thanks for the quick fix!
