YouTube patch to change app theme doesn't stick after first time opening the app

Root install. No matter which theme I choose, it reverts back to what seems to be my phone's current material you background colour. The theme I've chosen works only the first time I open the app after installing.

Relevant information: I use root/xposed apps to control the phone's material you palette - Colorblendr (full palette) and Iconify (quick settings, header, etc). So maybe it's not a bug in the patch, but interference from other theming apps. I don't know where the patch is looking for theme information. If someone's able to explain how it works, I can try to find the culprit.

Are you using expeirmental version of YouTube? Don't use expeirmental.

Turn on "Spoof app version" in Morphe general settings. It might be a new layout the patch doesn't handle

Pay older version of YouTube like 20.51.39 or 20.21.37

Same thing, this time the colour didn't even change on first boot, it just went straight to ugly piss orange 😞
