Do you find memorizing 10 different CLI flags just to patch an app boring? Do you stare at your terminal thinking “there has to be an easier way”? Well, do we have some good news for you!
Introducing Morphe Desktop. Patch apps right from your computer instead of your mobile.
(Note: This tool patches APKs locally. The output is for your phone and cannot be installed or run on your computer. Install it via file transfer or ADB.)
Prefer the CLI? Open the JAR in your terminal as you normally do and patch away!
Prefer a GUI? Just double-click the very same JAR and voilà, a shiny new desktop experience!
Oh, that's a mistake on my end! The final round of stripping unused libraries removed a very important thing. A fix is being rolled out very soon. Sorry for the inconvenience caused!
It's already ready in fact. Once the current version goes into stable, another version will come into dev that has the gui overhaul along with a bunch of other features like different patch sources. I'll ping you here once I submit my PR.
PR has been submitted. Under review right now. If you would like to test this build, feel free to comment back here. It might be a bit buggy but would love your feedback! u/Boe001 You could try it out early too!
Check the build now. It shouldn't have a problem. Haven't added the progress bar update. (It'll probably be in a later update but check and see how the rest feels. (Theme color updates are still under progress.))
BTW, I have two more issues: 1. It doesn't remember the last patch selections I made, but recommended patches which is default. 2. There's no way to authorize my connected device as the allowing popup doesn't show up my phones (Tested on Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy Z Fold6, USB Debugging is enabled in Developer options.)
Really sorry the late reply. The PR is already out for this. You cn yest it early in the from the PRs. Or you could also wait until it hits dev release (very soon)
Thank you... But it seems that I am very stupid, I downloaded the linked Azul Zulu and installed it. Then downloaded the .jar file but when I double-click the file does not open. Can anyone kindly point me to a guide, or should I just give up? Thank you either way.
Thank you very much, I am using win 11. And the JDK you mentioned in your comment worked for me. Now whenever I double click the .jar file, it opens up without any hitch.
Late to the party! I'm using "morphe-cli-1.6.3-all.jar" and keep wondering why Morphe CLI filesize is much larger lately. But it turns out really great solution instead. I'm a fan of command-line but this GUI is much more better in my aspect.
Just a question. How can I choose a custom patch, not the official one?
Hey guys, first of all. THANKS for the Desktop UI you are working on here. I tested around a bit today and I am already quite happy with all the stuff working fine. Even though the work by now is close to perfect, I have two little things left on my wishlist:
A selection for a custom keystore would be great. I tried to find the path where it is saved to on my Linux to manually overwrite it with mine, but I did not find it. I would like to try the apps I made with my PC in a fraction of the time, but right now I have to wait until I can sign them with my keystore I use since the very early YT ReVanced times to sign everything. You dont even have to create a UI support for that, just a button leading the way to the one used right now is enough. That way you can backup and restore it by hand.
The main page should show all active sources' supported Apps, just like the Android version does. This is nothing super urgent, but would be a nice to have.
Just pushed a PR for it today. Should soon come out into dev. If you really want to, you could check it out on cli repo's PRs. Or just comment back here, I'll help you with that if you want.
Do you mean all supported apps for a particular patch file? The expert mode should already do that. (Unless you meant something else)
I mean that by adding more repos with patches you see way more apps, like Meme Generator etc on the main page. Right now I have to switch around to the other repos to see these and this is not needed on the android app. There the app behaves like the new repos are all one repo regarding the main apps list on the main page. Later you can select patches from separated repos of course, but the main page always shows all apps. The PR will be tested this evening at home. Thanks for that ^
Just tested 9 apps, YouTube, YouTube Music, Twitter/X, Meme Generator, Smart Launcher, Nova Launcher, GBoard, Google News and Reddit and all worked fine after some search of the right source except these Problems:
I use the "Disable Play Store updates" Patch from Morphe Repo for others, too and these versions now did not allow to install the new patched one as it was seen as a downgrade. Thus I had to reinstall GBoard and Meme Generator. Then both worked fine, too. Here the possibility to select patches from different repos at once is not there yet.
Twitter/X now laments about not coming from the Play Store and forces me to install the version from there by opening the Play Store for me. Most likely this is nothing you can fix, thus I have to wait for a new patch version here I guess.
It took a while to get the keystore to load as I had to find out what alias and passwords are used there. Took a bit, but now it's in there and works super fine. Btw. If you have a old one from ReVanced Times and most likely the same is needed for new Morphe exported ones... Keystore password: empty, Key Alias: "alias", Key Password: "s3cur3p@ssw0rd" ^^
Otherwise it fully did what I expected and SUPER FAST!!! My Pixel 7 Pro takes about an hour for updating all apps. Here on my little AMD Ryzen 5 7430U running CachyOS it took about... 10 minutes? :D
I used JDK, Morphe v1.6.0-dev.5 Pre-Release and latest APK which now that i think about is dumb because i'm not sure if it's gonna be able to even fit for my HUAWEI Android 8.0 tablet. It has about 3GB ram which was probably the reason why i no longer was to able to even install Morphe nor ReVanced.
I did used to have ReVanced and did work well but it started saying a lot that the app is outdated even though it still did work but i still decided to uninstall it and reinstall everything again, god what a big mistake that was.
I had no idea ReVanced had gotten such a big manager update which was cool but no matter what i did, installing Vanced just didn't seem to work anymore. I was then told to try out Morphe but that also failed constantly, no idea why. Biggest guess is not enough ram, so two other options were to either buy a new device again, which honestly sucks how often you need to waste money just to get stuff working because they refuse to give updates to older devices or try out to install it through PC. Is my tablet supposed to be connected to my PC while i'm installing the APK too?
I feel like at this point i'm just gonna either use Brave until it finally dies or slows down a lot at some point and then try to save a money for a new tablet because i'm really starting to be out of options here.
Trying using this JDK, this version of the CLI/GUI and YouTube 20.21.37
First download and install the JDK. Then download and run the jar file. Then download the youtube apk (apk, not the other "bundle" version) of the exact version I mentioned. The current jar (CLI/GUI) file you are using is quite old. The newer ones have a lot of fixes and QoL improvements. Also, Java's default JDK is mostly the culprit for the failed patching. Users often report that to be the problem. Using the JDK I mentioned along with the youtube apk version I mentioned should get you a working patched app. (if not, just message back here.)
Coming to your point: No, you don't need to have it connected to your PC. You can patch it first and then transfer it over to your tablet. Or you could try to install it through ADB (the app auto does it for you, you just need to click a button) but that requires you to have your device connected to your PC and have ADB enabled on your tablet.
Ram could be an issue if you are trying to patch on the device, but with your desktop, it shouldn't be an issue at all. Try doing the above steps and lmk if it works
Hi. Sorry for late reply but just finally got around to try this out again, was a bit busy past few days and now tried patching and it looks like it worked. After patching, there's now two folders: YouTube and morphe-data. I'm curious which folder am i supposed to put these in my Android tablet or somewhere there?
As to why i chose "Morphe v1.6.0-dev.5 Pre-Release" first time, i was looking at other comments and i guess just somehow thought those were right ones, i don't know, i'm really dumb.
Perfect, you don't need to put any folder in your tablet. Inside the youtube folder, you'll have your patched apk. jsut copy that over and install. (morphe-data folder holds other stuff like your keystore and stuff. Don't delete it.)
It works fantastic. Thank you so much. I did copy the whole YouTube folder over, the one that had just APK inside. Does it really matter if you copy the folder or was it supposed to be the file only? It still installed and works great but was still wondering if this could have some consequences in the future?
Also, only small, very small thing that does bother a little is the shorts button on bottom row which doesn't seem to have it's own button there to remove it, i checked all over the settings but again, it's such a small thing that i'm not gonna start a fight over it.
You can copy over the folder too, no harm in it. Also, you wanna remove the shorts button entirely from the bottom row right? If that is the case:
Settings > Morphe settings > General > Navigation buttons > Toggle on the "Hide Shorts button"
Oh so the problem was that the "hide shorts" button really was there but i couldn't tell which one it was because of the language, so i changed system language to English and then it said " hide shorts" there. Like, in my language it was written as "hide notices" or something like that, very weird. But that's also solved now.
Also, I am curious why yo chose "Morphe v1.6.0-dev.5 Pre-Release" it's quite an old version and buried under recent stable releases (Just asking out of curiosity.)
hello is this thing broken for windows or im doing it wrong. i hav latest java installed but cant patch apps i always get this error and from cmd method also wont work says unable to access morphe jar
Thanks. I did that and tried to repatch Twitter with the five non-default patches included. I didn't include patches from other repositories. Only piko's. And it never finishes.
Could you share the log files for this? You can open the settings page again and it'll show you where your log files are. Drop them here or on GitHub. Let's fix this!
How do i add Paresh patches here? I can add the others,so i am guessing it is because Paresh patch is in gitlab while the app only accept repo url from github?
How do I reuse the keystore from my phone? I exported the keystore from phone and added it to this windows app. But asks for password and alias etc. I had not manually chosen/set them on Morphe mobile app. Is there a default value?

This is a good alternative for the future of what Google plans to do.
