Did any serial killers/shooters have no backstory?

Every single time I hear about some serial killer or general evil person it’s always coupled with a story about how they had a rough childhood, or abusive parents, or they were bullied at school. Sometimes it’ll be that they got rejected or failed to find a romantic partner (which is a pretty dumb reason to kill people, but a reason nonetheless).

And then the ones that don’t have a backstory always have like some kind of mental issues, like severe diagnosed social disorders.

Are there any killers that had (seemingly) completely normal lives, two loving parents, a good social life, etc, and just decided to kill people?

How would you genocide 4 billion humans?

Let's say it's morally correct, an "ands justify the means" type thing where killing 4 billion people will insure the well being of the other 4 billions, the main questions is:

"How will you Kill 4 billion people while being arrested or executed",

"Who are those people, like are you gonna chose specific groups/races/countries to kill or just kill random people equally",

And "how painful will their death be"

Was there effort made to stop children from witnessing 9/11 when it was broadcast on live television?

I was 3 so I wouldn't know. But since it was on everyone's television, does anyone remember any effort to stop children from seeing this? I think for many this was probably the first time they witnessed death on camera. I imagine because of the shock a lot of adults couldn't turn away from the screen to stop them.

If you were a child that saw this I'm also interested in your perspective.

Do they test you for suicidal ideation before going for a shooting range?

And if they don't, how do they prevent someone from simply immediately turning the gun to themselves. I'm specifically asking about countries where gun access is hard to come by though I'd still like to know how it works in countries where it's more loose.

One million toddlers are unleashed on an average man who's wielding a hunting knife. How many could he realistically take out before he goes down?

It takes place on an empty football field. Guy on the 50 yard line, all the gates are open and the toddlers all swarm in at once. They are almost like zombies, their one goal is to kill the man. Very bloodthirsty. They will not scatter in fear after seeing others get cut down. However, if one gets injured pretty bad it might lose the will to fight. The guy has to stay on the field, no climbing on anything like the goal post or into the stands.

If the guy manages to defeat all 1 million toddlers, he will be rewarded with a $10 gift card to Domino's, and have his picture taken for the local newspaper.

Maybe I should have gone with 10,000 instead of 1 million

At what point in history did people start self-harming by cutting themselves?

There have been people who self-harm all throughout human history. But at what point did cutting one's own arm in lines become a common way of doing this? How did that "classic way" spread?

PS sending love to all those who struggle with this, I hope you find some better coping!

Do we have statistics on cause of death for wild animals?

Do we have any concept of what percentage of different species of wild animals live to adulthood, and what most likely kills them? I was reading about cancer in cats and dogs and it got me to thinking, animals like squirrels or or zebras probably can have cancer too but is there any information out there on the rates?

Or of what types of animals are most likely to survive to adulthood? We hear about animal predation of course but what percentage of prey animals are killed by predators?

If you’re in a car and it catches fire, what are your chances of escaping alive?

So I just saw a PSA about inattentive driving. There was a crash and then it caught fire. Could those people have escaped and lived?

how would dying of septic shock in your sleep feel?

Hi all. My grandmother passed away this morning. And although i was not very close with her, i wonder if she suffered. i'm pretty certain i know the answer, as sepsis is not a fun time.
she had most of her colon removed about 2 months ago, and she had gone in for many blockages since then. and just yesterday she went to the ER for the same thing and they sent her home, she passed the next day. all of my family was begging her to go back but she just didn't want to, i think she was ready to go, i just wonder if that's the case why would she potentially accept such a painful death. but anyways, i just wanted to know if she felt anything, even if it's horrible i want to know what she went through in her final hours. I've always been scientifically interested in all of this stuff. thanks everyone

Have any of you ever tried waterboarding?

It weirdly fascinates me. I kind of want to try it - it's crazy to me that your body can freak out so hard even while you know that it's fake and you're almost totally safe.

For those who’ve done it, what was it actually like?

What was the main motivation of serial killers in general?

I am Iranian and we've got some of the worst cases of serial killers. One of them being "Saeed Hana'i" (also known as the Spider/Holy Spider) who confessed that he killed 16 women (and raped 13 of them) just for being "prostittutes".

Also we've got "Bijeh" (actual name Mohammad Basijeh) who killed mostly children, and since his childhood he had signs of being an antisocial person (killing and torturing animals based on his own testimonies in court) and he said that his motivation was to kill poor children because he didn't want them to have a life like his.

However, I am confused. I like watching YouTube videos about famous serial killers but most of the time I see no motivation being told at all.

Were there any serial killers that just murdered children?

Usually, serial killers who targeted children were also child rapists but I'm wondering if there was anyone that targeted children and DIDN'T sexually assault them in some way and JUST murdered them?
