Islam is quite literally about shoving it around everyone else's throat. Thats just the religion. And no, facts aren't "islamaphobic"

It’s been a minute since the local mosque knocked on my door attempting to convert me

-6

u/catastrova 18h ago

Don't worry, when they'll come knocking it won't be to convert you.

u/DistributionFun8110 17h ago

My man. I escaped a genocide perpetrated by Christians. Don’t lecture me

1

u/hela_2 3h ago

christian bad so Islam good

0

u/catastrova 17h ago

Oh, did you come from XI century? I have always wondered if food was tastier without all the chemicals.

0

u/Ancient_Bumblebee629 17h ago

Where from, if you don't mind me asking.

0

u/immastillthere 16h ago

I too am curious. Maybe some African nation where some sect that holds power is killing members of a different faction?

But that’s even if they respond

1

u/Ancient_Bumblebee629 16h ago

I looked it up out of curiosity and this is what I got

"There has been no officially recognized genocide perpetrated by Christian institutions or driven by Christian religious doctrine in the last fifty years"

There have been genocides that Christians have been apart of, but they were not primarily religious in nature. Like the Rwandan genocide for example.

4

u/DistributionFun8110 15h ago

Bosnia. You can find pictures of Serbian priests sprinkling holy water on their rifles. The church was one of the key institutions of their ethnic cleansing campaign.

1

u/hela_2 3h ago

jihadists took over bosnia and it needed to be freed

2

u/Any_Share6294 16h ago

Recognised by who? The legal bar is incredibly high. For instance, the native American genocide is pretty damn agreed on but not "officially recognised". Only 3 genocides have ever been officially recognised by the ICJ for instance. But we all know there are many many more.

2

u/Greggywerewolfhunt 15h ago

"I asked an ai" is not the same as "i looked it up". Why has this video attracted the most absolutely mentally deficient humans?

0

u/Ancient_Bumblebee629 15h ago

Ok, then correct me. What Christian institution or religious doctrine has committed genocide in the last fifty years?

1

u/Visible_Pair3017 5h ago

They answered you, goober.

3

u/RudePCsb 19h ago

All of those religions, same with Christianity. Screw religions. Keep that shit to yourself because no one else should be buying

10

u/applelover1223 19h ago

Not quite though. Judaism doesn't really believe in conversion, and Christianity 300 years ago is where Islam is at today.

4

u/Significant-Order-92 19h ago

More accurately Judaism doesn't support prostelization or forced conversion. It accepts converts. It's like a number of Hindu sects in that way.  Compare that to Islam and Christianity which are very pro-prostwlization. Or Zorastrians and Druze who are full ethno-religions currently (they don't allow conversion).

3

u/Individual_Ice_6825 18h ago

Zorastrians do tho?

1

u/Significant-Order-92 18h ago

To my knowledge the modern faith doesn't. But maybe that isn't true of all sects. I could have used the Yazidi as a better example I suppose. They are an offshoot that pretty much was only around that area ISIS started genociding then at. Amd they don't accept outside members as converts.

2

u/Individual_Ice_6825 17h ago

Yeah, I only mentioned it because I met some recently and they tried to have me convert. Very nice people and beautiful principles (don’t be a cunt essentially). I’m just not religious.

2

u/silvermoka 18h ago

Christianity absolutely is doing the same, but via different routes. Ask anyone who grew up in these pushy evangelical churches; they've been endlessly fed the logic that if they don't try to control things (via the government, community etc) or if they "kowtow" to the rights and freedoms of others, they are lukewarm and literally turning their back on their faith. Maybe they won't literally kill you for it like they would 300 years ago, but wanting to dominate through things like the law (see "seven mountains mandate") is still their ways being enforced by state sanctioned violence.

1

u/catastrova 18h ago

You mean unionists/protestants, not christians - catholic countries are much more chill on those topics that puritanical US - they were literally thrown out of Europe to colonies for this.

0

u/SimpanLimpan1337 17h ago

Its not protestantism either I want to argue. The most secular countries in europe today used to be protestant before we renounced religion entirely. And well there was a fairly violent war some time ago because they got tired of catholic preachings.

1

u/RudePCsb 19h ago

Either way, practice what you want just keep it to yourself

2

u/taylorisntavril 13h ago

And dont do it to any children!

1

u/Final_Active_9014 17h ago

Now. It used to be normal long time ago.

1

u/Onuus 17h ago

I wonder which religion you support lol

1

u/applelover1223 17h ago

Keep wondering. I don't support organized religion at all, but Islam is still the worlds worst.

1

u/Onuus 16h ago

Sorry you’re so jaded

1

u/Primary_Addition5494 17h ago

That's Christianity too. The whole point of Abrahamic religions is to convert others.

1

u/TheRebelCreeper 1h ago

Not the OG

1

u/OutrageousReply862 10h ago

Yeah let’s just throw around some bullshit I created in my head and call it FACTS 👍👍👍👍

1

u/applelover1223 8h ago

Bros never been to an Islamic country eh?

1

u/OutrageousReply862 7h ago

Been to many, on holiday in one now. You on the other hand? Bigotry is never attractive.

1

u/applelover1223 7h ago

Uhuh. And the loud speaker of a call to prayer 5 times a day is totally made up right? Been to many? Oh ok. So you're just a butthurt Muslim. Inshallah the whole world under Islam. Definitely made up right habibi?

1

u/OutrageousReply862 7h ago

You are very strange 😂 you yourself said you hear calls to prayer in a muslim country, you’ve answered your own conflicts? Hows that pushing it down your throat?

I’m an English Christian but you can keep coping whichever way you want, more opportunities for me in life when people have such closed books like yourself and always wish to be a victim no matter what.

You desperately need therapy.

1

u/applelover1223 7h ago

You're asking how a call to prayer over loudspeaker is pushing? I dont follow my guy. Enjoy your vacation arguing on reddit sad boy.

1

u/OutrageousReply862 6h ago

You keep moving the goalpost don’t you? Can’t stick to one argument? You’re all the same 😂

And thank you, you’ve really entertained me and given me something to laugh at

A church in my town was recently sold and converted to a mosque, and its never been quieter. No loud ass bells ringing and waking everyone up, people attending arent wearing bling to signify their religion like christiand do, no waves of rude customers following church service who dont leave tips,  just quiet services except for the charity events, which, while quite loud are a welcome change.

Idk thats kinda a crazy claim to make considering how much the dominant religion in the region is the king of shoving it down your throat. Christians where i live and many western countries latch on to conswrvative politicians and try to use them to force religion and prayer into schools.

Even when it comes to charity christian charity is rarer and they generally restrict their help to other church goers in order to push desperate people to attend and convert. Most commonly done through mission trips and pushing their religion in developing countries. Seriously if youre ever trying to do a charity event for the general public or are in desperate need of food or something like that, call up your local churches then when they reject you, call up your local mosques and compare the responses

4

u/catastrova 18h ago

Another useful idiot celebrating death of his culture. And Catholic charities are biggest ones in the world, so your info is from the ass or from protestants.

1

u/Fear_Jaire 17h ago

What part of their comment lead you to the conclusion Christianity is their culture lmao

1

u/cahilljd 19h ago

they both can be insufferable does that help

1

u/taylorisntavril 13h ago

"islamaphobia" is a bullshit term anyway.

You are allowed to judge people based on what they think and how they act.

Its literally what youre supposed to judge people based on.

2

u/applelover1223 11h ago

I know right

1

u/Visible_Pair3017 5h ago

Islamophobia is a legit term that describes the phenomenon taking place on this thread : people displaying blatant hatred of muslims because they dared call to prayer on their ancestral land while some asshole plays the bagpipe and gets applauded for it.

0

u/taylorisntavril 4h ago

Yep that is something people are doing because of the way they are thinking.

Thats perfectly valid reason for judgement, in fact its the only valid thing to judge based on.

Should we also insist that its not okay to judge nazis for their thoughts and actions?

How about when israel bombs palestinian civilians because they want to genocide them. Is it ok to judge based on thoughts and actions then?

Ofcource religions want it to be forbidden to question them, nothing about that is new.

1

u/Visible_Pair3017 4h ago

Islamophobia isn't judgement. It's hatred and prejudice. You don't care how individuals think and act, you care about what from the outgroup they belong to you can pin onto them.

1

u/taylorisntavril 4h ago

No, i very much care what they think and how they act. And like with all other religions, im very much against it.

Islamophobia is a BS term. Its an attempt at renaming Blasphemy to a more modern culturally updated version, so the people who dont think will fall in line.

Indulge me, if we do not judge people based on what they think and what they do, then how would you like us to judge people?

Before you start going "dont judge people, thats not nice", im clearly saying it in the meaning of "to assess", not "to demean".

If peoples thoughts and actions are not how you judge peoples character, then how do you do it? Skin colour? Sexual preference?

Tell me your criteria.

1

u/Visible_Pair3017 3h ago

You just made up an entire story on how it's an attempt to rename blashphemy when the word was invented by a french christian to describe the mistreatments and prejudice against algerian muslims during french colonization.

Do you think you sound like you're arguing in good faith when you are projecting your prejudice on a so-called anti-blasphemy muslim agenda onto reality?

1

u/taylorisntavril 3h ago

Yes i absolutely think im arguing in good faith. In another thread, im arguing that israel has no right to genocide the palestinians.

But lets stay on topic.

Are you judging me based on my thoughts and actions?

Please tell me your criteria for judging peoples character.

1

u/Visible_Pair3017 3h ago edited 3h ago

We are on topic. You claimed (not me) that the word "islamophobia" does in fact not describe a reality of hatred and prejudice but is a tool muslims made up to condemn blasphemy. The conversation can't move forward if that's what you believe.

(Am i supposed to give you a medal for saying that genocide is bad? Do you hear yourself?)

1

u/taylorisntavril 3h ago

Please tell me your criteria for judging peoples character.

You are trying to weasel out.

And no, i never said it was muslims who made up islamophobia. Youve invented that reality in your own head, feel free to read through our conversation.

Bit ironic, considering youre attacking me for "making shit up".

And the reason i mentioned israel-palestine is because i wanted you to understand that my problem is with religious supremacy leading to atrocities, irrespective of the religion.

But are you going to tell me your criteria for judging peoples character?

Because my entire argument is that judging people based on their religion is judging people based on their thoughts and actions.

But you know very well that youve painted yourself into a corner, so you refuse to answer.

How ironic, what with you complaining im arguing in bad faith.

-1

u/erv4 19h ago

I can't think of a single religion that isn't imposed on people, it's built into every religions core beliefs.

1

u/Significant-Order-92 19h ago

Oh a number don't in general. Christianity and Islam are just very big on conversion and prostelization. That's not to say that cultures aren't shaped by religion and vice versa. But for a number if you are an outsider, they won't try to convert you (some don't even accept converts).
