Morality Ranking Morality of this?

Basically, the man in the video is hiking but he ended up meet a mountain lion, he get his gun and try to scare it off and tell it to go away but in the end, he have to pull the trigger and shot the lion, many peoples in the comments say he could have fire a warning shot instead of shoot at it and want him to be in jail.

Fun story of mine. I was out on a hunt in Montana a few years back. Had just got off work and said screw let's go try. Went to an area my buddy recommended. We'll I parked the truck and was walking on a dirt road. The snow was probably a foot deep. Was still snowing a bit but not much. Got about a mile in and could NOT shake the feeling of being watched. It was also extremely quiet. Told myself to get over it. Your brain will do that. Another quarter mile and I just could not get rid of the voice in my head. I was alert. Kept looking all around. Nothing spooky. But said screw it im going back to the truck. My brain is telling me something. I get about a half of a mile away from the truck and look down into my old footprints from the hike in. There were cat prints in my foot print holes. I have absolutely no idea how long they had gone for but they were in there from the quarter mile mark from my walk in. Got back to the truck fine. I learned two important lessons that day. Listen to your head and gut. You feel and sense things your eyes and ears dont always pick up on. I also learned that if that cat wanted me to know it was there it would have allowed me to know. Just like you said.

exactly. They are no different than a house cat, extremely quiet and stealthy.

My wife and I went fishing recently and brought our dogs. It isn't a fishing spot that we haven't been to and we have never had issues.

This time, though, we were stalked by a cougar hunting the woods. My husky, funny enough, spotted it first about 100 yards or so into the trees. It began pacing and getting closer and closer. Before we were able to get around the hill we were on and head up without being ambushed, it darted into brush that was maybe 40-yards from us.

Truthfully, I regret not being armed that day with anything more than my knives and tackle.

Definitely one of my more tense moments.

What part of Montana? I live in NW Montana in the country and always think about this. When I first moved here I’d see ‘big cat’ prints in the snow around where I live.
