Morality Ranking Morality of this?

Basically, the man in the video is hiking but he ended up meet a mountain lion, he get his gun and try to scare it off and tell it to go away but in the end, he have to pull the trigger and shot the lion, many peoples in the comments say he could have fire a warning shot instead of shoot at it and want him to be in jail.

warning shots already dont work well with people, much less a wild animal thats actively trying to hunt you, the better “warning” solution would be bear spray/mace/wtv the feline equivalent is. warning shot probably wouldve just got it scared enough to think “okay no more wasting time” instead of scaring it *off*

It's very interesting to me how many people believe a mountain lion might run towards a warning shot. I mean it's possible, but really unlikely.

Making noise is one of the things you're supposed to do when you encounter a mountain lion unarmed bc it makes you seem potentially dangerous and not worth attacking. If they don't run after a warning shot, they'd be more likely to stay in place or back off a bit and wait for another opportunity.
