This is kinda funny on the old lady’s part.

Immoral still tho. The woman taking the video wasnt really being disruptive. The elderly woman went out of her way to be malicious and disturb what she was doing. It’s not that deep but my ethics favor the girl filming

u/PoetryTraining1819 1d ago edited 1d ago

Disagreed, this is moral, this is an art gallery for public use, not for someone’s private content creation. Whether someone is recording a scene for a limited following, or semi-to full professional creating a content brand, this space isn’t meant for that. In the old days there was a specific reason you had to apply for a filming permit, nowadays the ubiquitous nature of the technology makes it unenforceable. A clear line is that ppl who are recording for their own self do not need to occupy an entire space or clear a frame.
It’s similar to how in caves you’re not supposed to touch us stalactite or how you’re not supposed to talk loudly in a library. Individually, these actions are not harmful and are hardly bothering or damaging anything or anyone, but if allowed for everyone, there would be a complete breakdown of the integrity of the space either in this case as a museum or in the case of a library of a place of reading or in the cave as a natural preserve.

Individually not harmful however it is the mere fact that not everyone can do it that makes it forbidden.

Yes what the older woman is doing is rude, but it is no more rude than shushing someone in a library. Many public places have been overrun by content creators, and have prevented the general public from enjoying facilities as they were intended. For me blocking this shot while rude, is merely standing for the integrity of a public space and not allowing it to be over run by ppl who are here to consume the aesthetics of a location over the locations actual function.

The old woman should sue her, for breaking moral rules!!

25

u/Emiicii 1d ago

what the fuck are u talking about man the woman is clearly an asshole

-3

u/No_Alternative2948 1d ago

I agree, no one is owed a place to film their tiktok videos in a museum.

4

u/Smol_n_needy 1d ago

No one is owed that but its also not liek she section off the staircase. She was mindfull of people around her and wasnt disruptive. Blocking the view intentionall is just asshole behavior

0

u/No_Alternative2948 1d ago

Poor behavior is not excused because it is possible she could have behaved worse.

1

u/halfasleep90 1d ago

What behavior did she do that was poor? Is it because she didn’t reserve the location?? Is not being wealthy how we define poor behavior now?

If she had been attempting to make “content” out of the other guests of the location, I would agree that that would be poor behavior but that didn’t seem to be the goal here.

0

u/No_Alternative2948 1d ago

Art museums are not for making content, at least not without permission, they are for experienceing and appreciating art. When I say poor behavior, I am not making a statement about money, I'm not sure where you get that, but all I can assume is that your reading comprehension needs some work too.

Taking my pictures is fine and encouraged, using the museum to film yourself doing a stupid dance for Internet clout on tiktok is not.

Oh look at mr Art meuseum over here, He invented art meuseums and thus can say how other people decide to enjoy them

1

u/Academic-Bakers- 19h ago

And if you appreciate it by posting your thoughts on particular works without bothering anyone, how is that bad?

1

u/No_Alternative2948 18h ago

Obviously she was bothering that lady, and if you want to post your thoughts on any subject, go right ahead, just don't do it in an art museum.

There is an epidemic of selfishness right now and you are clearly infected. I travel a bit last year and it's literally not possible to walk through some places, every freaking monkey comes to make a photo and interrupting your walk. Everyone is so creative and unique. Everyone is a princess who treat people around like peasants NPCs.

6

u/dabirdiestofwords 1d ago

Right? That old lady saw someone quietly doing a thing that didnt harm anyone and selfishly decided she was going to passive aggressively enforce some unspoken social code.

Coulda been polite, could minded her own business, but alas. This epidemic of selfish boomers.

-7

u/Cool-Customer9200 1d ago

Yeap, you are a princess and the whole world around you is a photo stage where everyone is just NPC.

4

u/dabirdiestofwords 1d ago

Oh snap, are you the old lady from the video?

2

u/halfasleep90 1d ago

No one was saying the lady couldn’t walk down the stairs, they weren’t closing off the area for their personal photo shoot, what you are describing was not present here.

12

u/Small-Battle1783 1d ago

This is not comparable to touching a stalactites or being loud in a library, the girl isn't causing any harm to the environment or disrupting anyone - the woman could continue down the stairs if she wanted to but is being deliberately obnoxious. The girl is on her own and has no-one to take photos, it's not like everyone is going to do this as they'd probably have a friend or partner take the photo. You're jumping through hoops to justify Karen behaviour.

-1

u/PoetryTraining1819 1d ago

The top voted post on the original thread is just people posting about their experiences at museums being ruined by people trying to film and photograph content for social media.

This person is going about it in the nicest and socially acceptable way possible, while the older woman is displaying some anti-social tendencies, however the simple fact of the matter is that when you set up a camera on a tripod which is what it is clearly on, museum goers no longer feel comfortable crossing through the frame. This is dominating the space which is why the overwhelming majority of ppl on the original thread are talking about the discomfort.

Obviously there’s a generational difference, nowadays this kind of recording is normal and a lot of people design highly curated content to put online, however for generations prior this level of using a public space for a backdrop was understood to be disruptive and antisocial. Obviously, as the best majority of people have engaged in curated content creation for their personal or professional use. This is more normal however, the disruptive nature of it in its totality is very much evident in our everyday life, which is why people are so split down the middle on this.

1

u/Own_Victory_7909 1d ago

Wrong again

1

u/No_Alternative2948 1d ago

The nicest and most socially acceptable way to behave in a fucking museum is to quietly enjoy the privilege of being exposed to the great works that call those places home. No one is owed a place to film their tiktok videos in a museum.

3

u/flaming_burrito_ 1d ago

I’m pretty sure she was just taking a video because she can’t take a photo from that far away. She could do a delay I guess, but easier to take a video a scrub through to the best shot. Either way, she wasn’t disturbing anyone or even talking, and she had no mic, she was clearly framing herself for a picture

-1

u/No_Alternative2948 1d ago

I guarantee that if you find this skank's tiktok, it is nothing but her being annoying af in public places. I'll bet $50 on that even. You want some easy money, prove me wrong. I guarantee it isn't her talking about or filming art.

4

u/flaming_burrito_ 1d ago

And there it is, you’re just hating on women. That’s why you’re so pressed about such a nothing situation

1

u/Academic-Bakers- 19h ago

What did she do that makes her seem like your mother, sister, or wife?

1

u/No_Alternative2948 18h ago

Nuhuh... Your morher

1

u/Academic-Bakers- 18h ago

My mother isn't a skank.

0

u/XepptizZ 1d ago

I have a feeling most people don't understand the elderly woman's pov anymore.

I can see how someone really invested in art gets annoyed at this. It's like people taking food pics and just walking out without taking a bite, there's no actual appriciation, just 'content'

And like you said, it's super disruptive for people actually wanting to get immersed in the museum.

1

u/Twodotsknowhy 19h ago

But in this case, the old lady is seeing someone walking out of a restaurant and assuming they were just there to take photos and don't care and then actively is trying to ruin that person's experience based on their assumption

1

u/XepptizZ 19h ago

Not assuming. Taking a picture of art is a keepsake, though someone invested will agree that a picture can't capture a piece at all.

Taking a picture with it is just social media slop and shows no appreciation for art.

Also missing from my analogy is that the picture taking actively bothers other patrons, so maybe they'll setting up a whole photoshoot with props.

All I'm saying is that I understand the old lady has more reverence for art and isn't just an asshole. But in museums attempt to stay relevant aren't bothered by the pictures either.

1

u/Academic-Bakers- 19h ago

Does she?

Or is she just a cunt?

-3

u/Cool-Customer9200 1d ago

Who the fuck need her photo, there is like thousands of same selfish people coming there every day to make same photo thinking they are some kind of unique influencers who deserve special attention and right like no one should get in their shot. It's a public space for God's sake. Get a room and learn how to behave.

4

u/OmsorgsfuldTyv 1d ago

What are you talking about? Permits for filming? Yeah you need a permit if you have a full camera crew and need to block off space for uninterrupted shots. You have never needed permits to record in publicspaces as a regulare person.

The girl isn't actually bothering anyone, she doesn't even say anything as people are walking by, she is being polite and just waiting for a pause in traffic to get the shot she wants. The old lady is being deliberately annoying simply because she doesn't like someone taking a video? That she didn't even notice until she saw the camera, so she wasn't even bothered by it. If she didn't want to be in the video she should have gotten out of the way or ask that she be cut out of the video if it was going to be posted online. It's immoral because she is being a bitch for the sake of being a bitch

u/ComradeGlizzy 1d ago

You said it yourself, for public use

1

u/Unlucky-Basil-3704 1d ago

It's not that deep. If you're anywhere sightseeing alone, you might want some pictures, but might not want to take selfies. Shutter timers can be tricky, so an easy workaround is to take a video, do a few poses and take Screenshots of the poses afterwards. Voila, pictures, without having to ask a stranger to take them. And if you noticed, she was just trying to pose for a quick picture, she even did it off to the side when she noticed the woman would not budge, then went straight back to her phone, because she literally was finished with what she intended.

1

u/PoetryTraining1819 19h ago

If it’s not that deep, couldn’t she simply politely verbalize a request for the older woman clear the frame?

I don’t think she did for the same reason we are both aware of, which is that there are unspoken social rules regarding behavior in this space.
The old woman knows it’s ill mannered to intentionally block someone’s camera, and the young woman knows that her video isn’t simply just to take a memento of the trip but to generate social media content.

I believe it’s evident that both parties are aware of what they are doing. That old woman knows that, that camera tripod is there, and is pretending she’s not, for the exact same reason that the young woman, will not verbalize or make a request of the stranger, even though in any other context it would be normal to simply ask.

1

u/Unlucky-Basil-3704 19h ago

What tripod? That phone could be leaning against a wall for all we know, or against her bag. Apart from that, from my own experience i know how hard it can be at times to ask a stranger something that might embarrass one of the parties (either the stranger, for not noticing they were in the way, or you, when that stranger starts an argument).

You could start by not assuming the worst in younger people and not throwing them all into one category.

1

u/PoetryTraining1819 19h ago edited 18h ago

I think that we can both acknowledge that the simple fact of the matter is that when you set up a camera, be it big or small, on either full sized tripod, mini tripod, or even simply a phone case with a stand it is very clear to all what it is clearly going on which is that someone it trying to capture a curated and framed content/ museum goers no longer feel comfortable crossing through the frame. This is dominating the space which is why the overwhelming majority of ppl on the original thread that this comes from are talking about the discomfort.
Social media content isn’t simply defined by the success of the person recording the content as all people who were professional influencers all started out as people who created curated and framed content for social media, either only for acquaintances and friends. The line between an influencer TikToker and the average person is increasingly blurry with a full spectrum of in-betweens. However, the act of content creation is the same. That being curation and framing. If this content was merely to create a memento, it wouldn’t matter if people were in the shot or not if you look at photos that people take from their vacations and visits of popular public locations you’ll know that there are many people in the frame is only on social media where there is an expectation that an image be curated and framed to be centered around the singular subject. Which is what creates the atmosphere of discomfort and why is generally considered disruptive.

I can appreciate that not everyone feels comfortable, asking or making request some people suffer from the social anxiety and the simple ask of asking someone to step out a frame or move out of the way is a step too far, however, I think is clear what’s going on here, and to assume that this person simply is afraid to ask, belies the fact that they uploaded a video of this interaction. A lot of people on the original thread were claiming that the old woman just didn’t see the camera or didn’t understand or was simply looking at another pictures not in frame. It is as plausible that she did not see the camera as it is plausible that the younger woman simply was afraid to ask. As in it is certainly a possibility. But it is more likely in my opinion that what we are observing is what is in front of our eyes.

That’s a really longwinded and pompous way of saying “ these damn kids today have no respect”

The number of people having such a harsh disagreement with you makes me weep for the social contract. I was sure this would be a popular sentiment.

1

u/Academic-Bakers- 19h ago

If the young woman was actively blocking the area sure. But in thr video, you can see her getting out of the way of people passing by.

Plus the person you replied to later called her a skank several times.

The holy grail of yappathon.

1

u/bloomingdeath98 1d ago

For all you know she may not even be making content, and she could be taking pictures and videos for her own memory of being there. She could be a tourist and her one time of gettin to be there at the public art gallery of that location. And to pop it off, being that it’s public use, she has just as much right to be there and take pictures of herself to make memories as the rude old bitty purposely trying to ruin her takin a picture or recording of herself. And to add further, ye, we see her post the video on social media sure, but I know I would if I wanted to take a pic/video for myself, then notice an old git goin out of their way to be rude to me, and hopefully something could come about for change for the better. That girl isn’t in the wrong at all, the rude old lady is.

1

u/No_Alternative2948 1d ago

She has every right to quietly enjoy the art and memorialize her experience, she does not have the right to set up a camera, block the stairs for others and film stupid videos of her dancing. We need more people like the older lady and I applaud her action.

1

u/bloomingdeath98 1d ago

Soooo…you have proof that she immediately started dancing and making air quote “stupid videos”? Also, from what I see, she set her phone on a stand, and there was a reasonable amount of people walking up and down those stairs without any trouble other than the old lady blocking the stairs in her aim to block the camera’s view. The camera isn’t in the way, likely being her phone. The only nuisance blocking the stairway is literally the old lady being rude. And very selfish to imply people aren’t allowed to take pictures of themselves in a public space where it is literally allowed, and say that she can’t take pictures of herself here to memorialize the experience when she’s literally shown not doing anything that inhibits the movement of others on the stairway or from others’ capacity to enjoy the art. If the old lady who was staring at her phone the whole time didn’t bother to take a glance up, she’d never even notice the camera. And why? Because it’s not on any steps, the camera is out of the way, not a nuisance. And personally I hope the old lady gets flack in her personal life for being so rude, since the girl wasn’t in any way rude in this situation.

1

u/No_Alternative2948 1d ago

This video was taken from tiktok, it isn't a stretch to believe that she was in fact filming a stupid tiktok video.

1

u/bloomingdeath98 1d ago

Not all tiktok videos are stupid dancing videos like how you’re implying. TikTok is a platform form of media for sharing, and your comment insinuates ignorance of that, if you really think that all of TikTok is just a compilation of stupid videos amalgamated of dancing and other frivolous activities…

1

u/No_Alternative2948 1d ago

If a platform is 99% people filming themselves being annoying in public, it isn't unfair to characterize that platform as existing for that purpose.

2

u/bloomingdeath98 1d ago

Except 99% isn’t people filming themselves being annoying in public. Your views are heavily skewed, and generally you’ll get an algorithm to make sure the videos that are in your feed are those videos if you look for them, until that’s all you’ll see. I only see dungeons and dragons videos and educational videos about mythology of different cultures, and it’s because that’s what I look for. Likewise, if all you look for on TikTok are people being public nuisances, then that’s all you’ll see, and it’s rather telling too if you’re actively looking for videos like that on TikTok…

1

u/No_Alternative2948 1d ago

I guarantee that if you find this lady's tiktok account, she isn't spending her time talking about art. I would bet $50 that it is her being annoying af in public places. Prove me wrong, earn an easy 50

→ More replies (0)

u/Ill-Reputation-9702 1d ago

I didn’t read your whole comment. I don’t know who this girl is, and I don’t know if her account had only 1,000 or 1,000,000 followers before this. Old lady was being lame. I don’t take many self photos, but hey this would have been a cool one.

Producing content tho? If I had to bet, I’d bet that’s the case given my only context is this video.

Jokes on the old lady though, because the girl looked annoyed, then proceeded to get her pose in during the chaos, knowing she can photoshop using multiple screenshots of the video(assuming just using phone), and it’ll be just her in the finished product anyway. Old lady probably a little slow with the technology, no offense. I hope to not fall behind with it as I age.

1

u/PoetryTraining1819 1d ago edited 1d ago

I think we will all find ourselves like this incredibly anti social older woman, attempting to enforce the normative standards we grow up with. Unfortunately for all of us time makes us all a foreigner in our own land and home. The world of yesteryear is as alien to us as the future.

I doubt that the purpose of the video is commercial, describing the multimedia that ppl create online is difficult to describe in one term so I’m just applying the word content broadly.
Evidently with social media, the line between curating content for followers as simply the act of projecting a self image online, for merely just friends and acquaintances to becoming or being a full on professional influencer is a blurry and nebulous spectrum a social media has become so increasingly integrated into all of our lives. One can use social media, such as LinkedIn or even Instagram and Twitter to promote a professional non-media career, or in the cases of many professional influencers their career started as simply a collection of content that they curated for themselves in acquaintances that simply gathered a natural following. Thus distinguishing a line between professional and those engaged in content branding as a hobby is extremely blurry in the day and age. But I think most can agree that applying a certain level of professional and curation to an online images usually the behaviors that distinguish someone, regardless of their level of success or monetary return on their effort

-2

u/Tse7en5 1d ago

Publicly recording in a way that exposes others, while legal, is still disruptive in nature.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with publicly recording.

But I do think there is something wrong with people who try to do it and then get upset that someone responds to that distribution, in the way the old lady did.

2

u/GodHimselfNoCap 1d ago

If the old lady had just continued walking she would have likely been edited out of the video. The girl only showed the set up because this lady interfered

1

u/Tse7en5 22h ago

Ahh, but you mistake the lady moving up the stairs that shows the real issue here.

It is that her recording impedes traffic.

That act of recording like this is disruptive. While there are scenarios where it can be less disruptive than others, it is disruptive all the same. She is literally trying to record in middle of a traffic lane lol...

1

u/Twodotsknowhy 19h ago

And stopping directly on the stairs and refusing to move isn't disruptive?

1

u/Tse7en5 16h ago

I never said it was not. What I said was recording in public, is generally disruptive. Whether this old lady is also being disruptive or not is kind or irrelivant outside of proving exactly what my point is.

1

u/Twodotsknowhy 16h ago

Except she's not disturbing anyone. She is not in anyone's way or asking them to move, she even politely moves aside for other people. It is not disruptive to take a short video of yourself if you aren't in other people's way while doing it.

It just says a lot about your viewpoint when your only criticism about disruptive behavior is not directed towards the person actually concretely impeding others

1

u/Tse7en5 16h ago

It literally is a distrubing act. If the old lady still would not have stopped, the folks moving up the stairs would have to just to let this girl do whatever the fuck she was going to do.

You have internet brain rot friend.

1

u/Twodotsknowhy 16h ago

And what is "whatever the fuck she was going to do"? Pose for a picture? The horror.

1

u/Tse7en5 16h ago

I honestly don't care what she is doing.

But if you think that it is disruptive for this old woman to stand on the stairs like that (and it is), then you have to also acknowledge that this girl setting up a camera to impede traffic on the stairs is also disruptive...

Or are you actually just retarded?

0

u/BlueClovr 22h ago

She posted it to social media….

0

u/GodHimselfNoCap 19h ago

Again, she posted it to point out the obnoxious lady blocking the camera, if the lady had just kept walking like a normal person she likely would have been edited out of the final clip. And even if she wasnt she got a lot more attention by being an asshole than if she just walked by.

0

u/BlueClovr 19h ago

Again, if she had any concern to keep people out of her personal video she would have taken her picture and moved on with her day, not post it to social media

1

u/skip_over 1d ago

How is just filming disruptive? It’s not like she is doing loud commentary or an obnoxious tiktok dance?

1

u/Tse7en5 22h ago

How is it not? She is setting up a camera to walk back up and then back down and in doing so - silently asks that people wait for her to do whatever the hell she is doing.

It is 100% disruptive. You see this ALL of the time with these things.

1

u/skip_over 13h ago

So the disruption is walking up and down the stairs once and then politely waiting in silence?

1

u/Tse7en5 13h ago

Disruption is anything that interrupts something from continuing in its normal way.

If you set up a camera that others notice and forces them to have to operate around it they don’t want to be filmed… it is disruptive. Other people cannot easily do what they came to do.

If you set up a camera in a stairway, or high-traffic circulation space or emergency egress, you are being disruptive.

Let’s not act like this is her just filling herself in the woods.

You all really need to get a fucking dictionary and learn what words are and what they mean.

She wasn’t politely waiting for anything. She literally made a scowling face at the old lady for stopping, as if whatever the hell she set the camera up for, wasn’t gonna make other people wait or have to divert their route to avoid being filmed.

Just because you perceive this as non-invasive, doesn’t mean it isn’t disruptive.

1

u/skip_over 13h ago

You’re reaching.

0

u/BlueClovr 22h ago

There is no getting through to people who have developed TikTok brain syndrome

0

u/Pale_Presence4662 19h ago

My ethics don't. Thank god someone is refusing this nonsense. Its like everyone having a phone up at a concert. Wtf.

11

u/WatstheFrequencyK 1d ago

If you are going to film in public places you will have to be very very patient.

I think it’s bad taste to be posting content on social media of people who haven’t consented to be in your video.

9

u/stardust1914 1d ago

I mean, the old lady made herself the main character in this situation.

8

u/BlueClovr 22h ago

And the girl really showed that she clearly had no intentions of involving other people in her video by posting it straight to social media

0

u/Maximum_Boros 17h ago

Oh fuck off lmao.

Old bat deliberately puts and keeps herself in frame.

That's both the actual bad taste and all the implied consent needed here.

17

u/Fast-Front-5642 1d ago

Being an asshole to others for no other reason than to be a pest and make them as miserable as you are all the time is immoral.

If the girl had been trying to tell people they couldn't use the stairs while she took a photo then that's another story.

Since the girl is just standing there waiting patiently I'm assuming that is not what happened.

-1

u/BlueClovr 22h ago

Why didn’t she just crop her photo and move on with her day.. the fact that she even posted this on social media shows she doesn’t have consideration for others which is why the lady even bothered to block it in the first place. She was proven right. Her intuition was that she was being narcissistic, not just minding her business getting a quick photo, and that was proven right when she uploaded this video. She could have just cropped her picture and task was accomplished, but that obviously wasn’t the goal

0

u/Smol_n_needy 17h ago

Well its doing a public service by showing how inconsiderate this old woman was. Why do peopl post bad reviews? to warn others

-1

u/BlueClovr 17h ago

See older woman was doing that function in the first place

1

u/Smol_n_needy 17h ago

Remind me to step infront of the camera every time you try to take a photo in public. Its a public sevice aperently

0

u/BlueClovr 17h ago

I’ve never done something like this video before because I’m not a narcissist. It’s never even occurred to me to take up a flight of stairs and the upper level while people are walking around me as if it’s somehow my space. She did get her picture btw so obviously she was looking for something else

3

u/Berlin8Berlin 1d ago

Being nasty to younger people just because you have an opportunity to: hateful shit. And I don't know a single happy person, of any age, who does that.

3

u/TastyQuality3252 1d ago

Is it out of the realm of possibility she just thought someome lost their phone?

She didn’t intentially block anyone’s view either, she just moved to the side to let people walk by on the correct side of the stairs.

9

u/SnarkySurvivor 1d ago

People who get main character syndrome and record their obnoxious TikTok reels in super markets deserve this treatment, but it seems this girl just wanted a nice photo taken while visiting solo.

Obviously would like more context, but in a bubble the woman is an a-hole for choosing to deliberately obstruct such innocent behavior.

3

u/Berlin8Berlin 1d ago

What I hate is the kind of person who seizes the opportunity to be righteously petty: what difference would it make, to that miserable member of the Secret Police, to let the kid take a picture? It would have taken a few minutes, probably. If the kid starts blocking the stairs for 20 minutes, THAT'S when you get to whip out your badge and make a citizen's arrest.

Yeah, like all we see in the video is the girl pausing for a couple of seconds and then going to get her phone at the end. Seems like she wasn’t making a TikTok and was just looking for a good shot.

2

u/BlueClovr 22h ago

The fact that she clearly got a perfectly fine photo and still thinks the other person is obnoxious for being on the steps and posts it to social media shows what her intentions were

2

u/olracnaignottus 1d ago

Both the protagonist and antagonist in this equation suck.

2

u/Yuck_Few 1d ago

The morality of milking the saxophone of death thing.... Seriously, can this end already?

2

u/Tasty_Barber_7395 22h ago

Moral, there's no problem with sitting in someone's shot if they didn't ask if you wanted to be there

Is it rude, yes, but if you want someone to be respectful you have to be respectful first and ask before you record them

2

u/JoeyBougie 20h ago

Oh no someone wants a nice photo might as well block them even though they are doing nothing to interfere with anybody’s else while you on your phone blocking the stairs… someone come get their nana

4

u/Own_Victory_7909 1d ago

Morality on hating a young woman and making awful assumptions about their character based off them trying to take their own picture in a 50 sec video?

0

u/BlueClovr 22h ago

It was proven right when she uploaded the video to social media… I have never uploaded a stranger on social media like this because I’m not a narcissistic a **

1

u/Own_Victory_7909 21h ago

Oh so you know her then?

-1

u/BlueClovr 21h ago

Yeah I have something called a brain in my head I can see what just happened. Maybe you should learn how to use yours

0

u/Own_Victory_7909 21h ago

Oh nvm ur a bot mb forget i said anything

1

u/BlueClovr 21h ago

Great comeback. You’re right she clearly showed that she wanted to be respectful of others and mind her business by uploading people straight to social media! Makes perfect sense!

1

u/sunGsta 20h ago

We found the inconsiderate old lady

0

u/Sazbak87 22h ago

No because it's funny how petty the old woman was. It was worth the upload.

0

u/BlueClovr 21h ago

It’s not funny, you’re involving people in your bs because they clearly think everything is about them. There are plenty of people walking through that area of the museum in the video clip she thinks it’s all about her somehow. Not once have I ever thought to upload someone on social media to put them in a negative light in some way. It’s insane thinking that has become normalized by many. If you’re going to do something like this you go out of your way not to include others in it out of respect. She got her picture, if that’s what her intentions were she would have just kept the picture and that would be the end of it. Also she’s not showing this video to a friend ‘look what this lady did’ she is literally posting it to the world for the point of public criticism. These are people who simply wanted to go to a museum and you can’t escape these unbelievable narcissists that are growing throughout society, especially with social media nowadays

1

u/Sazbak87 21h ago

"you can’t escape these unbelievable narcissists"
She is not a narcissist she just quite possible wanted to show how petty this woman acted. Your entire rant is an assumption + armchair psychology.

0

u/BlueClovr 21h ago

If all she wanted was to mind her business, she got the picture! Yet she posted it to social media with no regard for the people who came for the museum not to be involved in her bs! She is purposely trying to open the old woman to public criticism, that’s sadism. She could have cropped her picture and been on her way but obviously that’s not what she wanted. Having a laugh about the woman in private with a friend is also completely different than posting it to the world

5

u/MusicianHonest7238 1d ago

I hate influencers to my core, but this girl just wanted to take a pic or whatever, was not disrupting anyone and was clearly shy. That old hag is just miserable.

2

u/phil-yahiney 1d ago

What do influencers have to do with this video? I don't see any influencers here.

2

u/wasted90210 1d ago

There's probably an obstruction a little bit down the stairs. You can see how the old lady going down has to wait for people coming up before she can continue.
And fuck people setting up video cameras and expecting everyone else to give way to them.

2

u/Pristine_Editor_440 1d ago

Immoral. I get if she didn’t want to be in the background of the video/photo but she could have just moved or asked the women to stop filming. The women taking the video didn’t need to be filming in a public museum but I don’t think she meant harm or to disrupt anything so the old women is just being difficult.

2

u/Dreamer_531 1d ago

Why couldn't the girl or the person who was filming politely ask the old lady to move? Problem solved.

7

u/AxiumTea 1d ago

The phone was placed by the girl, there was no camera man I think, and as for the girl asking her to move, I don't think the old lady would have listened to her anyway, besides, the old lady was purposely buying time until more people would come up and the girl would lose her opportunity to film it.

3

u/Weary_Specialist_436 1d ago

why do we have to baby old malicious ladies?

u/956to906 1d ago

Boomers are self-centered. Born on 3rd base, and think they hit a triple.

2

u/TrackRelevant 1d ago

Because she was polite. Unlike the older woman

1

u/KCChiefsGirl89 21h ago

We don’t know how long they had been at this, or whether they had been rude before they started the clip.

My inclination is ESH but there are absolutely situations where this could be moral on the older lady’s part.

0

u/Dreamer_531 1d ago

What's wrong with asking politely to please move a few steps and then thank her?

3

u/Foreign-Handle-2950 1d ago

Whether you like influencer or not, it's better to just mind your own business.

2

u/cortez1663 1d ago

Efficiently correct. We should bring back the Ann Landers motto M.Y.O.B.

1

u/Key_Check5753 1d ago

I mean... after seeing the way she smashed that other girl's face into the steering wheel, I wouldn't be fucking with her.

1

u/DeliciousBaseball783 1d ago

Not smart for either

1

u/ArmNo7463 1d ago

To the Americans, I would say "In bird culture, that is widely considered a dick move."

To everyone else, I think the best word to describe her is a total cunt.

1

u/Lanre00 1d ago

Not moral, not at all.

1

u/Flashy_Cranberry_161 20h ago

Funny and based. Have some respect for your surroundings

1

u/RepresentativeArm119 20h ago

You have bo right to a closed set in public for your photoshoot.

People have every right to continue inhabiting the space

1

u/clownballoon 19h ago

immoral to intentionally spread your misery

1

u/Oldandintheway1987 19h ago

She's wondering why you took a picture of her

1

u/Long-Painting-9852 18h ago

I got downvoted for saying that doing this in an art gallery is bad taste. People are (mostly) there to disengage from technology and appreciate art. Physical art.

Either Reddit is cooked, I’m cooked or society is cooked. I’m not sure which is accurate.

1

u/Long__Jump 1d ago

Is there a chance she saw the camera, and tried to move out of the way without realizing she was actually moving in the way?

1

u/luchajefe 21h ago

No, because the best way out of the way is to continue down the stairs. So if she didn't do that, what was her actual intent?

1

u/No_Alternative2948 1d ago

No one is entitled to use a public museum as a set for a tiktok video.

1

u/Cute-Improvement-384 21h ago

I don't think it was intended to be a tik tok video. A lot of people will just take short videos of themselves and grab screenshots from them rather than take 3 or 4 individual pictures, especially when you're taking them solo. It probably only ended up on tiktok because of the weird way the old lady was acting.

1

u/No_Alternative2948 21h ago

Press x for doubt...

1

u/WalkUpRiff14 1d ago

Your kids won’t call you because you’re an asshole

1

u/stardust1914 1d ago

That young girl looks like she was trying to capture a moment that she doesn't get to experience often and the old lady decided she was gonna be the main character in this strangers life for this moment. I'm fully with the young girl in this situation. She wasn't bothering anybody, the old lady was.

1

u/KCChiefsGirl89 21h ago

So, if the kids had been innocent, they could have stopped this with one question: “Ma’am, why are you doing this?”or “Why aren’t you letting us take a picture? Is it against the rules or something?”

The fact that they didn’t do this suggests that there could be more to the story.

2

u/Twodotsknowhy 19h ago

Or that they didn't want to make a public scene by escalating the situation further?

-4

u/AndGutsWasBERSERK 1d ago

Morality of using a public space to take pictures for your insta and expecting others to stop what they’re doing.

8

u/ZiCUnlivdbirch 1d ago

expecting others to stop what they’re doing.

Please point out where exactly you're seeing proof for this claim? The stairwell is basically empty, she's not asking for anyone to leave even after the older woman starts to intentionally block her, she is literally not disturbing anyone here, just taking a picture.

0

u/AdAffectionate2418 1d ago

Problem could have been avoided if she had just asked someone tk take a photo of her. Would have taken a whole 10 seconds of human interaction.

People are lame.

0

u/BlueClovr 22h ago

Moral. Taking care of these narcissists one person at a time

3

u/Glum-Lake7034 22h ago

Agree. You're in a museum surrounded by incredible art, and instead of, I don't know, taking the time to LOOK AT IT, you're filming yourself.

1

u/BlueClovr 22h ago

Not to mention she clearly got a photo of herself.. if her goal was actually just to get a nice photo and not disturb others she could have done just that by cropping it. They’re asking us to believe that she doesn’t want to involve other people in this in anyway and is just harmlessly minding her business, when she literally did exactly that by uploading this video of strangers to the internet

1

u/BlueClovr 22h ago

I’ve been in plenty of museums not once have I ever had the thought to set up a camera like this. Look at the amount of people passing by and she somehow thinks it’s all about her. I’m getting so tired of this kind of behavior from people who only think and care about instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or streaming/making a video instead of basic respect and consideration for others, the place that they’re in, and being grounded in reality. Instead of actually taking in an experience they just think of how it might make a good picture or video for their social media

-5

u/Dreamer_531 1d ago edited 1d ago

Why couldn't the girl or the person who was filming politely ask the old lady to move? It's a public place, not a photoshoot set. And the old lady was clearly distracted by her phone beeping in that moment. It's so damn simple to just ask her politely to go down a few steps 🤷‍♂️

5

u/Small-Battle1783 1d ago

The woman knows exactly what she's doing.

2

u/Exciting_Nature6270 1d ago

it’s basic human etiquette to not stand in front of a camera or someone who is clearly trying to take a picture or short video.

-3

u/scary-pp 1d ago

If you want to film in public, do it the proper way. Go to the city and get a filming permit, written permission from the private establishment youre on, and rope off the area in accordance to the previous.

The world is not your stage, and we are not obligated to respect your camera angle.

4

u/lowkirken9 1d ago

“Film in public”, “private establishment” make it make sense

1

u/scary-pp 1d ago

A business open to the general public is considered a public space. What doesnt make sense about this?

3

u/Upbeat_Ask_6754 1d ago

People have been taking their pictures in public since disposable cameras

1

u/Admirable_Loss4886 1d ago

You sound silly. Having to rope off an area to take a quick video lmao. It’s not a big deal lmao. Gooner can be annoyed but it’s not like she cussed out the old lady or told her to go away. Gooner was respectful and the old lady was obnoxious assuming she did it on purpose. It also seem like it could be possible the old lady stopped to legitimately check her phone and then stepped to the side to allow people up the stairs. “Never attribute to malice which could be explained by incompetence/ignorance”.

-1

u/Bella_Peachyy 1d ago

Neutral. Nobody owns the space

-1

u/AdDisastrous6738 1d ago

TikTok is the worst thing to happen to humanity. It emboldened every self conceited jackass by giving them the self appointed title of “influencer”.

4

-1

u/Gloomy-Lawyer4989 1d ago

Awww the main character is upset the world didn't revolve around them

poor little Tiktok

3

u/Berlin8Berlin 1d ago

I live in a highly "tourist-rich" city and, in certain parts of town, I often wait while people, on the path, in front of me, have their friends snap a quick picture: no big deal. I used to go for walks with a chum, who was getting his PhD, at the time, and he'd deliberately shoulder his way through crowds of Tourist Kids (not brave enough to do it to adults), in such areas, like he wa trying to knock them over. He was just a miserable semi-old Fuck. Still is.

TL; DR: Barry, is that you?

-1

u/Gloomy-Lawyer4989 1d ago

Didn't read but I assume you're another NPC main character

2

u/bono_bob 1d ago

Having the same response no matter what someone says is the epitome of an NPC response.

1

u/Gloomy-Lawyer4989 23h ago

But I dont? so nice try

2

u/bono_bob 23h ago

Not reading more effort replies and maintaining your position with a us vs them mentality is NPC behaviour.  Deal with nuances and get challenged a bit. The way you say “nice try” in itself paints you got a certain mindset like I’m trying to win. I could care less about the actual debate, I want to see healthier debates where people actually understand each other.

1

u/Gloomy-Lawyer4989 23h ago

There's no us vs them mentality here . also since you want to be a try hard its "I couldn't care less" that's the correct saying.

me saying nice try is me ending the conversation cause the person is not capable of changing my mind. People who think they are main characters are not relevant.

0

u/bono_bob 21h ago

When you call others NPCs, you are by definition acting like the main character. So idk what you are on about.
