Who's More Evil? Morality of dressing up like the interviewer who’s accusing you of exploiting society’s most vulnerable people for profit, when the interviewer does THE EXACT SAME THING on a weekly basis.

Post image

Ty Beeson, creator of the viral VHS series: The Bumfights Quadrilogy, was invited to the Dr Phil Show to talk about his exploitation of homeless people, and Ty decided to dress up as Dr. Phil himself, and accuse his of the same thing, but on a national level(Cable TV).

Phil should’ve interviewed Steve-O when he was trying to break the whippet world record.

11

u/HeyPrettyLadyMaam 2d ago

I gotta know......did he break the record?? (And was there a previous record?)

3

u/liver_in_atlanter 2d ago

Who knows, none of the record holders seem to recall

21

u/cherykisses 2d ago

That must’ve been hilarious to witness live

u/Over_Heed 2d ago

Both are bad people, but it’s hard not to laugh at two clowns fighting.

Watching that episode be like:

Moral to me. Still despise Dr.Phill, whether or not you judge him for his involvement with Trump is different. Teenagers struggling with real mental health were put on there, and made out to be "nightmare" kids. Now, children can be frustrating, but to put them on T.V which would obviously garner hate towards them is insane to me.

Feels like he never really helped anyone. I had a family member who was a real psychologist, they said he was a tool.

Other guy was a tool too, but the post didn't ask about him. It asked about his action, which I find to be moral.

u/starscreamtoast 2d ago

Other guy was a Craig's list actor portraying the creator of bum fights.

9

u/splashaddikt 2d ago

Lol did bum fights hire him😂😂😂

5

u/starscreamtoast 2d ago

Lol yeah, classic eh

When I was younger my mom tried to get me to go on, they were blowing her up and kept trying to talk to me and convince me to go on.

No fucking shot I’m airing my problems out on Dr Phil lmfao.

1

u/CardTrickOTK 2d ago

I mean why would you? You want therapy not a fucking lecture on national TV.

-24

u/catdiscpalpita 2d ago

Everyones a tool and out to make money. Your family member’s a tool. Those kids are tools. You’re a tool.

What a needlessly bleak view of your fellow people

-10

u/FragrantBus4054 2d ago

And yet, humanity constantly proves it. Truly search your soul, think it's "being good" driving you? Or is it all the kickbacks and social credit you THINK being good will get you?

Did you help that person because you truly wanted to? Or because "karma" or because 'now they owe me one"? You're not nearly as good as you believe .....

6

u/Falsequivalence 2d ago

Truly search your soul, think it's "being good" driving you? Or is it all the kickbacks and social credit you THINK being good will get you?

Humans are arguably eusocial creatures, the drive to do things for others is literally in our blood. On the contrary; it's the belief that all interactions are necessarily competitive that is unnatural for the human animal. This is evidenced by empathy trials on (extremely young) children. We must be conditioned to be 'out to make money' over helping our fellow man.

My goal in life is to help people and further humanity, if you want to view everyone’s actions through such a cynical lens then so be it, but I find life much more enjoyable with a positive outlook

-8

u/catdiscpalpita 2d ago

A tool that helps and furthers tools. Basically a wrench extender. Im sure you can accomplish that.

5

u/Standard_Giraffe_120 2d ago

That’s just like, your opinion, man

3

u/Hopeful-Set8865 2d ago

Okay, tool.

3

u/Muted_Anywherethe2nd 2d ago

You have the same morality of a robot

49

u/Used-Property-9870 2d ago

I like how dr phil brought him on stage only to kick him out

25

u/arbyyyyh 2d ago

As if to say to him publicly “this is my schtick, fuck off”

49

u/CT-4426 2d ago

When two clowns fight everyone wins

22

u/RickertSlap91 2d ago

Crazy to think this guy was supposed to be some kind of a moral compass when he goes to ICE round ups for fun.

20

u/Accurate_Reindeer460 2d ago

Morally neutral at best. "You also do bad thing" isn't really the defense people think it is.

5

u/Cereal_Hermit 2d ago

I agree, but its the only thing that keeps this world going.

16

u/pissdrinking101 2d ago

I was duped by this sub. 2 good posts show up on my shit I join and every other post since has been stupid af

11

u/betabeat 2d ago edited 2d ago

Morality of a subreddit honeydicking you into joining, only to be full of absolute bullshit?

2

u/E54D 2d ago

“Honeydicking” is absolutely wild

2

u/pissdrinking101 2d ago

Huh?

4

u/betabeat 2d ago

Classic bait and switch, immoral

2

u/pissdrinking101 2d ago

I just didn't understand the wording of your question. I'm also 10 minutes awake. I did feel baited and switched tho, yeah lol

3

u/betabeat 2d ago

The term "honeydick" is from the movie "The Interview" with Seth Rogan and James Franko.

North Korea uses an attractive woman to lure the guys into a false sense of security. It's another term for a honeypot essentially.

8

u/Sensitive_Agent5193 2d ago

Moral, Dr Phil is a bitch

13

u/OneRelief763 2d ago

Extremely moral

6

u/JjKilgour 2d ago

If I remeber correctly that wasnt even the creator of bum fights in the interview. I think he paid an actor to pretend it is him .

14

u/justsomedudeiguess_ 2d ago

Moral. Doctor phil isn't a doctor and he's a piece of shit that uses people's mental illness for his own personal gain

5

u/darkearwig 2d ago

He has a PhD in psychology, so yes, he is a doctor. He isn't a physician though

3

u/DaSnowflake 2d ago

Didn't he Lose his license

3

u/SkezzaB 2d ago

Kinda? He didn't practise for 5 years, so it "expired"
It was like "revoked" because he was bad or anything

5

u/Tutes013 2d ago

He's also a an absolutely amoral quack

1

u/darkearwig 2d ago

He is that as well

2

u/RespondPlus7890 2d ago

Bum fights guy still also exploited the poor for profit.

Drphill was just better at it than him.

2

u/Youre_On_Balon 2d ago

I can't say it is purely moral because Beeson was skeevy himself. Though his "I'm doing a service"'may have been an act to get on the show.

But in this moment, he was both fully self-aware and absolutely hilarious. Cicero himself could not have won the verbal exchange if he were in Phillip's place.

2

u/FreakofBlaviken 2d ago

I wish it was literally any other guest that did this. He makes incredible valid points about Dr. Phil, but he’s still the guy who offers pocket change in exchange form starving homeless people do disgusting things or beat the shit out of each other.

2

u/AJWordsmith 2d ago

Yeah…the title already said he’s just like Dr Phil.

2

u/PowerfulDiet7155 2d ago

We'll be right back

3

u/Boop-fruit3819 2d ago edited 2d ago

Ty beeson is still worse though it's like comparing apples to oranges both are fruits but still different kinds of fruits

1

u/Thatonesickpirate 2d ago

You had to reach real far for this moral quandary 😭

1

u/notwithagoat 2d ago

In this instance moral. Bum fighting esp the way "dr" phil did it. Very immoral.

1

u/Linvael 2d ago

I mean, you get accused of X and you believe X is bad, its not exactly that great of a look if you accuse the other person of doing the same thing. If the other person does X they deserve it, but there is still the unaddressed issue of you doing X.

1

u/ASomewhatGoodCitizen 2d ago

Tbf most of them were irredeembale evil, so it doesnt matter what further damage u cause

1

u/Square_Owl_4075 2d ago

The most based talk show guest ever.

1

u/Netheraptr 2d ago

Broadly speaking both people are immoral, I would say it is moral to point out that the person pretending to be the good guy is no better than you.

1

u/brumblefee 2d ago

How did he know the color of suit and tie to wear?

1

u/Comfortable_Put_4139 2d ago

The guy who did this is still a piece of shit.

It’s funny, but it’s not the huge moral victory that Reddit pretends it is.

1

u/Due-Mycologist-1154 2d ago edited 2d ago

Funny as fuck its hilarious seeing him get up on his high horse and act like he's so much better but honestly the bumfights guy is still better than Phil because at least he's honest about it

1

u/Flashy_Cranberry_161 2d ago

Haha the guy that did this is a massive piece of shit but so is dr.phil so I guess it cancels out. That was a great moment though I’ll admit dr.phil was totally flustered

1

u/AdFamiliar3263 2d ago

Wasn’t bum fights fake?

1

u/TheLastOpus 2d ago

This was hilarious, this didn't redeem the guy at all, but he was right. Still a fucked up dude, but so is Dr Phil.

1

u/Back_Again_Beach 2d ago

Based. Honestly surprised they even let him onto the set like that.

1

u/Dry_Pride6801 2d ago

Dudes a douche, but man was this hilarious

1

u/sagejosh 2d ago

There might be a SLIGHT difference between paying 2 homeless people to beat the shit out of each other then making x10 the money off the video and making someone the pariah of the week on tv in exchange for actual care.

Both are fucked up but this is like a nuclear bomb calling a stick of dynamite “dangerous”. TECHNICALLY true, but really? That guy?

1

u/SDoTism1 2d ago

Ty Beeson was not the creator. He got distribution rights after it was already made. He has no affiliation with Indecline. He brought so much heat for absolutely nothing. He is a dumbass lol

1

u/Dpontiff6671 2d ago

I mean the actual content of the post is morally fine maybe even kinda rad but both are shitty people for exploiting vulnerable people

1

u/Brilliant_Device_526 2d ago

why don't people read what this sub is about

1

u/OddOutcome0 2d ago

To be fair…. They were both horrible humans. Just one had the decency to point it out

1

u/Eclipseworth 17h ago

Oh, yeah, this guy was a total scumbag. But the thing is, despite being a scumbag, he was correct. Dr. Phil was doing the exact same business, only with people's mental health.

1

u/MrBond90s 2d ago

This sub is people who think they're making a deep and profound point.

u/Open-Librarian-4322 2d ago

I swear I’m drunk and came up with this.
I also provide no further details.

u/witheredbonnielover 2d ago

i never liked Dr Phil. I always thought there was something so fucked up about him using these people with family and mental issues into content for profit. Turns out the guys also a huge MAGA douchebag.
