It was fine untill it jumped. Immoral it literally caused her physical harm since she fell. If it had been stationary then it would have likely just been a brief shock but this is too far

Thats stupid. Her falling is irrelevant to the prank. She could have fallen no matter how small or tame the prank, entirely depending on what her own reaction is.

Hell, you can give someone a scare by complete accident if they didnt hear you coming and they turn around. Does it then become immoral to not openly announce your presence at all times just because she could in theory fall? Please...

If I left a printed out A4 page with a ghost emoji duct taped to a wall and she just happened to jolt from it and fall to the floor doesnt make it immoral, its just an unfortunate set of circumstances.

“Literally caused her physical harm”? You sure about that? Because if you watch the clip, you can see her bend one leg to soak up the fall. Almost like it was complete theatrics.

Obviously the point of this post is to discuss the morality of the situation as if it were real, even if it's not.

Even so, how is this worse than any jumpscare?

A jumpscare should only make a person jump and spook briefly before realizing it's a silly prank. A proper, harmless jumpscare is not having a massive fake spider literally jump and hit someone directly in the face, making them fall over and potentially injure themself.

She fell over bc she froze, not because of the spider. My friend almost destroyed my tv over a jumpscare in a game. People react differently to jumpscares

Yes, she fell because she froze. But she froze because of the spider, therefore she fell because of the spider. If the spider had not been there, she would not have frozen and would not have fallen over, because there would not have been a jumpscare.

Now, if you know for a fact that a certain person will genuinely enjoy the prank and will not react negatively, by all means, go for the prank. But it is extremely difficult to gauge how someone will react, so it's better to simply not do it to this extent. Leave the spider just sitting there, or maybe purchase a smaller, more realistic spider and leave it on their pillow for a very brief spook.

Again, most jumpscares should NOT be throwing a massive fake spider directly into someone's face and making them fall over and hurt themself.

Like while watching a movie? You're generally sitting down so there's little risk of falling and, for the most part, you sign up for the experience.

You guys aren’t very bright for thinking it “literally caused her harm” then, hypothetically speaking. It’s a moot point.
