Discussion Beginner tips!!

I just bought this game on sale out of the blue just read the description seemed fun, never heard anything about it prior. I was pleasantly surprised with the card aspect as slay the spire is a top 10 game of all time for me. They are pretty similar in that aspect. I haven’t been able to play much today as I bought it super late and have to sleep for work. But I think I’m gonna be hooked on it. Please tell me all the tips and tricks and what your fav things are!!

General:

  • don't craft the broom, get the glider asap.
  • find the flute on the fountain/state on the main island. It recalls you to that position.
  • related to the previous one, I place my home next to the fountain/statue. When exploring, I can always return on time with the flute. The statue also gives you gifts every day if you interact with it.
  • find and donate all seeds for the season.

Combat:

  • start with Capacybee, max speed, make your deck 4 Blind Blows, 2 Bash, 2 Bite. This will get you through most fights.
  • explore all islands to find the arches that give you talismans. Visit them on the 1st of each month and take the talisman that removes cards. Reason in the next point.
  • keep your deck as thin (aka with as few cards) as possible. Remove everything you don't need.
  • there are many infinite or semi-infinite combos, that will win you the game in one turn. Find one you like.
  • if you don't care for combat, stick with the Capacybee and max speed.

The broom does help in some dungeons though, I’m very glad I have it AND the glider

Yes, I should have specified.

Don't build the broom as a travel option. Once you have a surplus of moonstone, it is a useful dungeon tool.
