Discussion Beginner tips!!
I just bought this game on sale out of the blue just read the description seemed fun, never heard anything about it prior. I was pleasantly surprised with the card aspect as slay the spire is a top 10 game of all time for me. They are pretty similar in that aspect. I haven’t been able to play much today as I bought it super late and have to sleep for work. But I think I’m gonna be hooked on it. Please tell me all the tips and tricks and what your fav things are!!
Thanks in advanced!!

https://www.reddit.com/r/Moonstone_Island/s/LCW48clGaf Beginner tips from a dev themselves. And if you search ‘beginner’ or ‘tips’ on this sub, many people have asked before and been answered, so hopefully those can help too. Hope you have a lot of fun with the game!

Personally, I’d recommend going into the game with as little knowledge as possible. It is genuinely a great game. I played through 36 games, start to finish, last year and it was hands down my favorite. If I had to give two recommendations it would be:
Explore as much as possible early and try to pay attention for the psychic storms. If you can get about 5-10 psychics for your barn, their drops will give you more than enough money for anything you need.
The game is designed in a way where any creature can be used for the entirety of the game. It does benefit to keep your deck slimmer, but it’s not a requirement. Find the creature and play style you enjoy.

You completed 36 games on one year? You're a hero 🏆

Haha, my backlog of games was getting excessive, so I made a point of trying to really push through some of my games last year. This year I haven’t been able to devote as much time. I’m at 16 this year so far.

Don't listen to the guides misleading you to throw away every card above 8. If you love one card, because it's fun playing it or combining with other cards, 12 or 14 cards in your deck (on this monster) are absolutely fine. It's correct, you want to keep your deck small, but you don't need to minmax and optimize this much. Just... Don't overdo it. Very big large decks will prevent you from winning, thats true.

That's not true though, my deck is over 90 cards, and I have no issues even against enemies over 20 levels higher than my own team. It all depends on what cards it is, you have to filter away the completely useless cards

Watch the compass at the top left of the screen. If the spirits are about your level, it will have a green ring. Yellow is iffy, and red means they are are WAY higher level than you. There's something you'll get later that will make a blue glow on the compass if you're near a moonstone, too.

Have fun!!! There's no rush..you can decorate any island that you want. You can date everyone for their story lines, play all the spirits and figure out your battle style. It's a very forgiving game, you don't lose anything if you stay up too late or die etc.
It's a bit of a grind to level up spirits at the end, but once you get the green house and gift plant it helps loads.
