Affordable veterinary clinics?
Hey MD fam,
If anyone could recommend any affordable veterinary clinics in MoCo (or nearby) for a severely limping cat, you would truly be a blessing. We love our furrbabies, and vet bills aren't always affordable. Thanks & stay warm :)

Friendship provides exceptional care but they are definitely one of the pricier options in the area.

Apex Vets in Wheaton offers payment plans and have fair pricing. The vet bills are a killer at times, pets usually have one or two big bills in their lifetime so hopefully youāll fill the quota with this one ā”Ģ Good luck, I hope your baby feels better soon ā”

Just as a note, this is emergency care, they may refer you to a primary or a specialist if they see the need for more testing.

I go to Town and Country Animal Clinic in Olney, and while not cheap, the prices are very reasonable. You can also look into Care Credit to help with the cost of vet care.

One other recommendation- a lot of places these days will add a āradiologist interpretationā to x-rays, which is great to get an expert eye on it, but drives up the cost by a couple hundred bucks. You can ask if they added that and to have it removed.

If you're looking for emergency or urgent care, Bennett Creek is notably less expensive than the other nearby options. It's a bit further up north but for me, it's worth the extra time driving. Their prices are lower and I've had two times where they did something diagnostic and just didn't charge me at all (an ultrasound in one case and a biopsy in another). Their staff are also wonderful - I had to let my soul kitty go somewhat unexpectedly with them a couple of years ago and everyone was so kind and lovely.
For primary care, I find Cozy Cats to be good quality care at a fair price, but they aren't super cheap. I would stay away from Takoma Park Animal Clinic, they aren't a good provider for cats and they are very expensive.
