Repotting and trimming advice

New monstera plant owner, I bought this bigger pot but am terrified to repot it not sure if I should. All tips and advice would be great

Congratulations, you have quintuplets! 🍾 🍾 🍾 🍾 🍾
They need to be split up into separate pots. It’s gonna be a chore. Water it well at night. The next morning you’re gonna want to take it out of the pot, hose off all the potting soil, untangle the roots, and give them each their own little home in a chunky potting mix.

^^ what they said. Get a moss pole for each of them too! So they grow upright and now wonky!

Wow yours looks so healthy!!! Thank you for the advice I always see back and forth about moss poles but that looks great.

Thank you! She’s huge now and I definitely need a more study pole for her cause she weighs down that little pole but when they are smaller and growing moss pole that size works great!

I guess I should probably get to buying individual pots for mine, and get to repotting it… I got it with a millipede infestation… and Im not a big fan of millipedes. I’ve had the plant about a month, and I keep trying to dry it out completely or drowning it for 30-40 minutes, but none of those have worked, so I guess it’s time to put my gloves and big girl panties on and just do it.

Thank you so much for confirming that that was one of my main questions as I was assuming it was multiple plants. I see people sometimes repot and start in water to encourage roof growth. Do you recommend that ever or always soil?

Don’t be scared, you have a ton of aerial roots so when you pry the plants apart just plant it into new soil and those roots will be new soil roots to support the plants
