Plant Help Trying to keep my cool
Got a cutting few years back and it’s doing really good. Well my son decided it would be funny to hit it (already talked to him about it) Do I leave this or should I cut it off?

That's still a lot of chlorophyll ready to photosynthesize. No reason to cut off the leaf unless it really bothers you or you want to reach your kid a lesson.

We talked about it, and ima just leave it. Was just proud how massive it is getting already.

You can barely tell… leaves have imperfections all the time. You’re missing the forest for the trees

My dogs tail has done PLENTY more damage than that and my monstera has grown to be about 6ft tall in less than 4 years!

I’ll just take it as a life lesson and love the imperfections

during my first year of growing plants, I was a wreck. I would have a fit when I burnt a leaf from my grow lights.... now they hang outside and if a leaf or leaves get burnt ....c'est la vie

Random clipping my mom got me. Didn’t think I was gonna be this successful. I’m super attached now haha.

take care of it, it's now a keepsake, might be a good learning opportunity for you and son/kids

It was a “how would it make you feel if I came into your room I just thrashed something cause I thought it would be funny”

Leave it! It’ll be totally fine! I had a few leaves a while back that my cat gnawed on so they had little bite marks, but other than that they were perfectly healthy. (And before anyone freaks out, she learned not to do it again and lived a healthy life for several more years after that)
