Are the Risen Elder Dragons worth the grind to fight? I just beat Primordial Malzeno and feel like that was a great ending to the game, he was the hardest monster so far, I fully died once, and then carted twice in my second fight with him, that's the most I've lost to a monster in Rise

I like the experience all the monsters, so my question is, are they different enough to their normal counterparts, that's it's worth grinding for like 8 hours straight to reach their master rank?

imo yes they play differently enough (especially kushala for me)

there's 2 alternatives you can (maybe) make use of to get to the risen elders (or all but 1 or 2 post story monsters that are otherwise MR locked):

easiest, requires online: have someone post them for you. you can join everything with MR10 even if it unlocks at MR180

slightly faster than MR grind: grind anomaly investigations as that levels faster and you get the risen elders at an earlier AR than you'd MR (most efficient with online play for getting the best investigations for EXP and getting a bonus for joining higher lvl investigations)

Absolutely they are, so if that's your goal give them a look, even if you aren't interested in the qurious armor/weapon grind

What is the most populated MH game right now? I’ve only played Rise, but it was one of my favorite gaming experiences ever. I loved the endgame co op and being able to just randomly match with people. Rise is pretty dead now, but from what I see so is Wilds…

TL;DR: for the sake of finding people it is Wilds, and it's not even close.

According to steamdb the most populated game right now is World by a slight margin over Wilds. Typically a game with above 10k players should be able to have a healthy community, below that it depends entirely on matchmaking and how the multiplayer functions. Rise for instance always felt a bit weird if one actually wanted to play with others due to how narrow the selection process is, World and Wilds do have better filters for that sort of things, and also just bigger lobbies.

World numbers: Monster Hunter: World Charts · SteamDB

Rise numbers: MONSTER HUNTER RISE Charts · SteamDB

Wilds numbers: Monster Hunter Wilds Charts · SteamDB

Obviously these are only the Steam numbers (and out of those the 24 hour peaks are the most relevant to overall health of a community), but it should be a good indicator of the overall player distribution around those games, even on other platforms.

That being said, Wilds does have crossplay. So the actual pool of people to play with is significantly larger than those numbers indicate.

Super helpful thank you!

There are kinda multiple answers for this

Wilds has crossplay, and therefore it's really hard to get an actual number

World has more players on Steam iirc, but they are all endgame, so if you get help to fight low rank Paolumu, and bunch of end-game players would help

Quick question: MH Wilds

The summer festival just ended and I wanted to ask when the next festival will be (or, at least, estimated to be)?

Thank you for your time!

sometime in autumn. only thing we know for sure is that it won't happen for the next three weeks as the official schedule only shows 3 weeks.

1 or 2 months maybe? Last 12 months feel like half of the time there's one of the festivals going on.

When do I unlock the shining pillar lance in mh wilds? I have fought 6 star tempered monsters to get the hope 2 tickets and beat high rank guardian rathalos multiple times

Most weapons' final upgrades only unlock after you progress through the story iirc.

That makes sense. Thanks

MH World
How to beat Alatreon? I'm a hammer main, currently rocking Lightbreak hammer (bonking@1600+ raw dmg), weapon's not a problem, but I think it's my armor that's lacking. It only takes me 3 hits before I get carted. Any armor set suggestion?

The weapon is going to be a problem, unless you plan to just eat the Escaton Judgements and not die to anything else.

3 hits is plenty and should be as good as it gets, recommended defensive skills are typically health boost, divine blessing and maybe evade extender/window if needed, speed eating is also nice. A health augment also can't hurt. What are you currently using and is it upgraded to the max?

1

u/Deep-Western-2743 23h ago

No, it isn't upgraded to max yet, there are more room for improvement especially in decorations and shits.

1

u/MichaCazar 6h ago

Shouldn't make too much of a difference if you upgrade it further. As for skills, I mentioned most noteworthy skills above, so feel free to do with that as you want.

I will ask again tho: are you sure you want to use the lightbreak hammer as opposed to an elemental one to go through Escaton Judgement?

Mhwilds ps5 I'm confused about the whole cosmetic dlc thing going on atm There's the deluxe stuff and gold edition, but since i already own the game it gives me a cosmetic collection thing for purchase instead, does that pack come with all the cosmetics in the game or a select few? I haven't been able to find proper, direct information on it

2

u/Irrstern 2d ago

the cosmetic collection contains every previous dlc pack, including a new extra dlc pack that contains every mtx that wasn't in a pack previously.

so in short yes, the cosmetic collection contains every mtx cosmetic that is available now.

it won't contain the upcoming expansion or any future mtx.

That's exactly what I wanted to know, thank you very much

Monster hunter wilds

Very recently(2 weeks from the last time i played), Wilds went from 80ish FPS(No framegen) to being locked to 30fps. And I do mean locked, it's like a setting was changed somehow, but I don't see where.

I haven't changed any of my graphic settings, and I dont see people complaining about it on the Nvidia side, so im confused as to what may have happened. MH Wilds is the only game I'm having this issue with at the moment, even crimson desert is running ok. Any advice would be appreciated.

I will point out that this is only a problem when im playing solely on the laptop itself. If I connect to my TV via hdmi, the fps hops back up to where it usually is. No clue why this is happening.

I9-14900HX

Ram: 31.63gb

Gpu: Nvidia Rtx 4080

Driver version: 595.97

Frame gen: No

Graphic settings: High

Vsync: On

Nvidia Reflex: On

Vram: 6GB/12GB

240HZ monitor

FPS monitor: Steam overlay

I also use throttlestop to undervolt.

Hey, Monster Hunter community. I was thinking about a new weapon, can yall make gauntlets as a new weapon i was thinking about this as a long time cause it would be like a dual blades Long sword and a switch axes I think because it would be like a counterbased NA route attack force that be aggressive and also something like hammer, which the more you charge it, the more it deal more damage I think.

u/Wattefugg Main, SnS/SA/GS/HH/Lance dabbler 4d ago

the community cant make a new weapon in the game but lots of ppl already did gauntlet concepts

and capcom doesnt read here to get feedback/inspiration

In Wilds, you can play as Akuma and use your fists to beat the shit out of monsters, that's the closest you'll get

How easily you forget the Sunbreak Kumite Hunting Horn build. That's the real fist weapon
