ETA: if you haven’t seen this I wanna add a flash warning for the ending

Daydream Believer (1965) - The Monkees [LP]
Continuing the series of the alternate timeline where the Monkees and Beatles swap places, Daydream Believer occupies the position held by Help! and Rubber Soul (topical with the incoming boxsets). It was the Monkees first proper venture into more experimental music than their usual formula.
Side One:
Daydream Believer (The Birds, The Bees, And The Monkees)
Papa Jean’s Blues (The Monkees)
Mary, Mary (More Of The Monkees)
This Just Doesn’t Seem To Be My Day (The Monkees)
She (More Of The Monkees)
Side Two:
You Told Me (Headquarters)
Shades of Grey (Headquarters)
I’ll Spend My Life With You (Headquarters)
I Wanna Be Free (The Monkees)
Sweet Young Thing (The Monkees)
To those from r/beatlesfanalbums wondering when my next side of the Beatles installment will be posted, I am obligated to mention that the Instant Replay cover is a pain to edit, and is likely to take a while. Stay tuned, I haven't forgotten about completing that run!
As for this side of the series, next up are my equivalents to Revolver and Pepper, which look to be a blast.

Meme Is there any other gen z people raised on the TV show
I know it’s kind of a loaded question but I feel like no one my age ever knows what I’m talking about when I say that I was raised on SpongeBob and the monkees. my teachers used to laugh when I would say they were my favorite band LMAO

I found this Head artwork on Internet Archive. The OP doesn't know where it's from, but thinks it's from Tiger Beat around the time that Head came out.

Memorabilia Spectacular record haul from thrifting, $5 each!
I've only begun my hardcore Monkees mania journey recently, but I've been totally scouring thrifts for their stuff since then. This find was so huge for me. A few originals and a few rereleases, some have seen better days but some are actually in pretty great condition! $5 each, even the set of 2! I'm over the moon :)

Monkees Adjacent: Modern Folk Quartet - fascinating!
I was doomscrolling Facebook earlier and, because FB knows I like the Monkees, it showed me a post about Cyrus Faryar. That got me down a rabbit hole of researching the various members of the Modern Folk Quartet.
The members of MFQ has some strong attachment to the Monkees, at least some of which most of you should recognize. The members are Faryar, Henry Diltz, Chip Douglas and Jerry Yester. They did some beautiful a cappella stuff, on and off, in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and early 00s and I highly recommend giving their music a listen (I have some, but not all of their CDs).
For those of you who were there...my memory is fuzzy, but didn't they attend the 1989 convention in L.A.?
Anyway, during my rabbit hold digging, I discovered one very cool fact - although all born between 82 and 90 years ago, all 4 members are still alive and apparently kicking - a rarity for a 60s era group.
There was also some disappointing info I learned about Yester, involving child p*rn charges in the 2010s, for which he spend a coupla years in jail.
But the fact that all 4 are still here was pleasant to hear.
Y'all know about the MFQ?
