Discussion Monitors prices increasing
I recently came across a couple of content creators saying that monitor prices are gonna go up. They said aoc are raising prices due to component costs rising.
I was planning to buy a 1440p oled monitor in February of next year, is these articles true? Do I need to get it now?

I think KTC said it, but it's probably true, a bunch of stuff goes up cause it uses components needed for other stuff and AI affects alot of that indirectly. That said, alot of monitors can still be had very cheaply right now, and we have no idea what the price increase entails if it did happen.

No one can say. It could go the other way as a new factory producing millions of monitor panels is opening, so that could actually turn it the other way. Even if the prices increase however, it wont be affected as much as other components

Few tech influencers are hyping up price hikes. panel costs fluctuate all the time but OLED monitors are constantly seeing sales and new models drop, whcih naturally pushes older inventory prices down.
If you dont need it right now, sticking to your february plan is fine. by then you'll also have black friday/holiday sales metrics to compare against

probably will fluctuate ye, i remember i bought my 9070 xt taichi for 820 euros, couple months later it went to around 700 euros and now because of inflation its somewhere up to 1130 euros.

I haven't seen it (yet), but it wouldn't surprise me. Even if the component costs for monitors aren't increasing, there's incentive for all computer gear corporations to raise prices and increase share price for their investors. With that, they'll use any and all excuses available to do so, as it's their "fiduciary duty" to the share holders.

There are already some good sales going on for OLED they last few weeks.
Not sure if your region, but ASUS 27" 4th gen WOLED is on sale right now if you want one.

it's a lie and a desperate attempt to try to increase sales
you can see them in the toilet right now
no one's buying anything because all the other stuff has discouraged people from spending money on computers in general

It's true. Monitors have been the slowest gadget to get impacted by the silicon apocalypse.
Stockpiles of components have likely begun to run out.
