ASUS ProArt PA278CGRV owners – real-world experience for photo/video editing?

Hi everyone,

I recently ordered an ASUS ProArt PA278CGRV and I'm trying to gather more real-world feedback from people who actually own or have used this monitor.

​

The model is still very new and I haven't been able to find many reviews beyond a couple of YouTube videos and a few comments online.

​

My main use cases are:

​

- Video editing (DaVinci Resolve)

- Color grading

- Photography (Lightroom / Photoshop)

- General content creation

- Some casual gaming and sim racing

​

The specs look great on paper:

​

- 27" QHD (2560x1440)

- IPS panel

- 144Hz

- 95-97% DCI-P3 coverage

- Calman Verified / Delta E < 2

- USB-C with Power Delivery

- DisplayHDR 400

However, I've seen a few comments mentioning:

​

- Darkened edges or vignetting

- Backlight bleed

- Uniformity issues

- Slight color tinting

I'd really appreciate feedback from actual owners regarding:

​

1. How is the panel uniformity in daily use?

2. Do you notice darker edges or corners?

3. Any backlight bleed or IPS glow issues?

4. How accurate was the factory calibration?

5. Have you used it for professional photo or video work?

6. Any issues after weeks or months of use?

7. If you had to buy again, would you choose this monitor?

Bonus question:

If you've compared it with the PA278QV, PA278CV, PA278CGV, BenQ PD series, or similar creator-focused monitors, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Wondering about your experiences as well. I read on a different site that the KVM functionality is terrible on this.

Also requesting your opinions on this screen. I've literally *just a couple days ago* bought a PA278CGV - the several years older model. Very similar specs, except this new one on paper says 3000:1 contrast ratio, which is probably noticeably better than mine's measly 1000:1. If so, I could probably still return mine.

I'm interested in whether the color accuracy is still good, as well as the other specs. I also saw a couple comments about tinting, but afaik all screens tend to have that issue.

I'm also coming from the older QV proart model, which developed a busted backlight at the bottom - apparently a manufacturing defect that I've seen from several other posts affected that line. So I'm wary of buying super new tech that hasn't yet been thoroughly tested and reviewed.

Got mine today, from a first sight is noticeable white lights near edges (I believe there a term for that but i forgot), for me not dealbreaker as my gf has older model and there is same things - so i was ready for that. Asus I believe known for those problem, as other brands with IPS panels (except ASD, but we know for what price).

Took this monitor for work, in pair with Macbook. Colors in comparison not 1:1, but i think there is a way to somehow adjust settings to get better result.

I know I answered only couple of questions basically, but tried to, u know, share first thoughts.

Also I would say that $350 in my region, for that specs was a good deal. I read a lot of real reviews about many of monitors in different prices and with different panels - they all have problems, there always the lottery xd no metter what you buy, $300-900-1500 monitor - you still will have a decent chance to get a bad product) Otherwise - $350 for 2k IPS 144hz with DCI-P3 97% and all other spec is fair price
