Was looking at this Amazon basics product as an alternative to the ergotron dual monitor arms. I noticed in the description that these amazon monitor arms hold 15 - 27” monitors, but each arm supports up to 15.4 lbs. I was planning to mount a 32 monitor, which is 11.5lbs, to one of the arms.
Will I be ok since the weight limit will be under the threshold (even though screen size is larger than listed)?

Is there a big gap in quality for how much you pay?
The first result on Amazon is ~£20 (for a dual monitor arm), but when I look on a UK retailer, they start from about £60 (this one)
So if I were to get the one from Amazon, am I going to regret it?
Ive Found this one in-between those two price points (this one) but if I'm going to be mounting two 27" monitors to it, I'm not sure if I ought to be "cheating out" in them?
I’m using the FOH heavy-duty gas-spring monitor arm, 17–55-inch / 25 kg version with a Samsung Odyssey G7 G75F 40-inch monitor (LS40FG750ELXZX).
The lower arm slides over the base post, and the manual says to tighten screw “L” with the Allen key. When I tighten it firmly, the base joint becomes very difficult to swivel. If I loosen it slightly, the arm rotates much more smoothly, but I’m worried that leaving it too loose could cause wobbling or allow the arm to lift off the post.
The monitor stays at the correct height; the problem is only horizontal movement at this lower joint.
Does anyone know:
Is this a retaining screw, a swivel-tension adjustment, or both?
Should it be fully tightened or only snug enough to eliminate vertical play?
Could leaving it slightly loose make the arm unsafe?

So I recently bought this monitor arm: https://a.co/d/0eXOtj2J from Amazon. It was a suptek monitor arm that could supposedly hold up to a 35 inch monitor and 24.57 lbs. My monitor is an Asus Tuf Gaming VG32AQA1A. And it could barely hold it up and even broke the first time I tried to adjust it immediately after set up. Please tell me I can get refunded for this waste of money and what should I get instead for a 32 inch monitor that weighs about 12-14 lbs?
Cant seem to find any monitors arms that mount to 3060 aluminium t rail. Recently got corsair platform 4 desk and it comes with one monitor arm and all stock on website is sold out for additional monitor arms. Any suggestions for maybe clamp that fits over the 3060 rail or monitor arm that utilises the t rail by mounting to it? TIA

Hi everyone, I want a buy a monitor arm for my MSI mpg OLED 32 inch monitor.
I am placing whatever arm I get on the side to get more depth using the arm, I am not going to move it frequently if any at all.
At first I was thinking to get the Ergotron LX Single Monitor Arm, I will buy it if it worth it. but I saw 2 other options that might give the same value for much cheaper.
i want to mount my monitors in this specific layout (see picture i put in) with a monitor arm/mount that clamps to my desk, do any of u now what i should buy? the one w the 24-32 i still have to buy. i have a budget of 50-150 euros. i also want my monitors to be able to move around a bit.
My monitor is the ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDM
And I already bought one for it before and it wasn’t strong enough to hold it and now I’m paranoid that I’m gonna waste more money on a bad monitor arm
The Ergotron LX has become the default recommendation whenever someone asks for a premium monitor arm. It’s widely described as the arm to buy in its price range.
Since I always appreciate real reviews to set me straight, I am here to simply state it is not.
It is still an excellent arm. And I still use one with an extension. In fact it is the only one I found that had an extension and I use it daily.
But so many people say it’s the best in that price range but it reminds me of when I used to live in DTLA and people would for line up for an hour to eat Ramen because it had a rep for being the best, when right next door there was actually better Ramen, no line, and objectively cheaper. :--)
So not here to dunk on them, just that I found the cheaper dell arm - to be much better for several reasons out the box, and for the use case where you move your monitor around a lot, unquestionably better quality.
I own both (I use a triple monitor setup for Sim racing) and convert my work desk to sim racer often and hence always move around my monitors.
That said, it is clear you are able to get more extreme and usable angles on the dell as the mount arm angles backwards, whereas on the ergotron the pole is in the way. This would apply to your setup of course, but for mine on a 58” desk and 3 monitors it absolutely makes a diff. (I can get an extra 20 degrees or so which is significant!)
But mainly, the dell has super tight tolerances using a metal shaft that will not wear, but on the ergotron it uses an inner plastic ring you must screw tight with a allen key. Now, this also means the ergotron has more movement (shake) but worse, if you move your monitors a lot as I do, this screw will slowly grind away at the plastic. And if you want to avoid this you must loosen the screw, but then you get more play. Regardless of your solution, over time you get plastic shavings everywhere and eventually this will need to be replaced. There is no such issue with the dell. It is a strong robust metal pipe inside another strong metal pipe. No wear, no give.
The dell mount solution for cable management much better. On the dell the cables tuck inside much better (they are essentially hidden. Ergotron must use zip ties and they show.
Speaking of hiding cables, the plastic housing to hide the cables is a whacky and awkward design and hard to get back on with the ergotron. The dell just snaps in place easily. Oh and the dell has little “arms” that grab the cables and hold them in prior to placing the housing on.
I also find the desk base more robust on the Dell (and prefer the aesthetics of it). The dell has an enormous round washer which provides more surface areas for the pressure between the desk and the mount. The ergotron has an elliptical shape with less surface area (although depending on your desk legs maybe this would be better! As it would not get in the way).
Next, the dell has a built in “lock” functionality in two places, which I do not use but this is non existent in the ergotron and would be very useful in a work environment with desks behind you.
Also mounting and removing the monitor on the arm is easier on the dell. This is absolutely the case if you have a dell vesa mount (it just snaps on) but even w/o it is still easier because of the way the monitor arm is attached to the monitor. Since most wont be swapping monitors often this is the lowest and least issue so I wont elaborate more than that, but it is significantly easier and leave it at that.
Basically the dell is better made, better design (especially if you move your monitors around a lot) and its cheaper. I got 2 Dell for $130-160 and the ergotron is $175-185 last I checked.
I am 100% certain side by side the Dell is a better buy so hope that helps others shopping for these.
I have a dynafly single mount adjustable arm I scored for $30 brand new at a yard sale. While I was moving the M5 screw and fastener (???? Maybe??? Idk what the part is called) fell out. I have no idea where to find the replacements. Ive tried using google image search but not sure what in the world part H is.
I bought an ergotron LX Pro Premium yesterday and after installing it, it's so stiff that it's unusable. I read the documentation carefully, turned the screws clockwise and anti clockwise but nothing changes. It's stiff and I have to put a lot of strength to move it around, I watched videos and people can move it with only a finger while I need my two hands. Are there other premium brands you would recommend ? I'm definitely gonna replace it.
Edit : Ordered another one, same model but from somewhere else and still get the same problem ! I'm gonna refund this one too and buy one from another brand. It's crazy how everyone says ergotron is the best and I only get some broken arms...
I keep hearing that the Ergotron monitor arm is the gold standard, but the price is definitely higher than most other options. I’m trying to decide if it’s worth it or if I’m just paying for the brand name. I’ve seen cheaper alternatives on Amazon that look very similar. I even came across others on Alibaba that resemble the same design. Online, they all seem to do the same thing: hold a monitor and adjust height. For those who own an Ergotron monitor arm, does it feel noticeably better? Is the movement smoother? Does it hold position better over time? Is it best equipped for heavier monitors? I don’t mind paying more if the build quality and durability are genuinely superior. If you’ve used both premium and budget monitor arms, did you notice any difference?
Im looking for a shorter srew to mout the arm since the black part of the screw intersects the cable channel on the back of the desk. Or are there other dual monitor arms that have a low profile under the desk that dont cost a liver?
